What is the “World” in genesis?
Five generations after the Noah’s flood in genesis, they travel to Egypt and speak to the Pharaohs. These are a separate group of people to the descendants of Noah.
Obviously the flood did not flood what we call “the earth", the entire globe. It just covered somewhere in the middle east that they referred to as the earth.
It is plainly obvious in genesis that god didn’t kill the entire world with a flood, just a small part of it. But for some reason most people seem incapable a reading what it says, just hearing what they are told.
So when the first testament stories where written, what part of our earth was “the world”? The world of the first testament god.

The Flood probably covered what is now Iraq, the northern parts of Syria and eastern Turkey.
Some say the Ark came to rest on the Ararat mountain range on the border between modern day Armenia and Turkey and claim to have found remains.
Others say it came to rest on Mount Judi (Cudi Dağı) which is in Sirnak province, Turkey on the Turkey/Iraq/Syrian border.

Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. 18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered. 20 The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered. 21 And all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man. 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit[a] of life, all that was on the dry land, died. 23 So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive. 24 And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days.

The "world" to most ancient people (including the Hebrews) was a few thousand square miles around where they lived, and what they knew about. They did not know they lived on a planet, and thought "the world" was their known area, which was essentially flat, and they thought it was covered by domes of "heavens" on top of which their imagined "god" sat.
By the way, there's no need to try and make the story "real" by correctly stating what they thought "the world" was. There's still no reason to think there was a flood that flooded their known "world," or that animals were put on a big boat, etc. It's still a myth even when you correct for their ignorance.

The world is planet Earth. What else would it be?
And where are you getting this idea that the pharaohs of Egypt are not descended from Noah?
"It is plainly obvious in genesis that god didn’t kill the entire world with a flood, just a small part of it."
Really? It's not obvious to me. Please, enlighten me as to this "obvious" information that I've apparently missed.
