Where are the moderate muslims?

Muslims across the world are making total ***** of themselves. They're saying our god is so impotent that we as men have to go out and kill to defend him because someone poked fun at him.

So moderate muslims, where are you. These people are destroying it for us. Our world is being divided by them.

Why aren't you out in the streets of Australia, US, England, Canada or heaven forbid an Islamic country, protesting about these idiots making our world a dangerous place?

Update:

By protest, I don't mean in the streets, I mean in the media. Were are the people denouncing their actions, disassociating these people from the rest of the moderate "religion of love and peace."

Didn't you read about the pro-American protest in Libya last Wednesday? Many moderate Muslims were out in force with signs saying things like the ambassador was a friend to all Libyans, and that Islam does not stand for terrorism.

Most Muslims are moderate. There are a billion Muslims in the world. If only 1% of them are terrorists or terrorist sympathizers, that make ten million bad Muslims, which is a hell of a lot.

But it also leaves nine hundred ninety million good Muslims, many of whom are afraid of reprisals if they speak out against terrorism.

    Just open your mind.

Believe it or not, there are lots of moderate Muslims out there. According to an article in Wikipedia, in 2006, there were approximately 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, and that accounted for about 23% of the world's population. Of that total, approximately 45% of these Muslims were Shi'a Muslims, the group most radical Muslims are a part of. This group also includes the Zaydis, Alawis, Ismailis, Khojas, Bohra, and other Shi'a sects. The other 55% of the Muslims (8,800,000 people) are members of one of the Sunni or moderate sects. These people, at least here in America, wish to be simply left alone and allowed to live their lives, do their jobs, and raise their families. They do not wish to be drawn into the craziness of the Shi'a. And while this may give people a wrong picture of Islam, most of these Sunni Muslims are peaceful, law-abiding folks, the kind of folks you'd have no trouble having as next door neighbors. But it might be nice if they were a bit more vocal when these terrorist activities flare up from time to time.

The answer is "apathy". Most people don't want to get involved. And, no, sitting at your computer in your PJ's doesn't count as "getting involved". The apathy problem isn't just true of Muslims it's also true of most Americans. I confess that I don't do as much as I should in the cultural war that exists in America today. But, with God's help I intend to do more than I've done in the past.

I saw an excellent film yesterday: "The Last Ounce of Courage". It's a story about how we are losing our freedoms at home while our brave men and women are fighting and dying for them abroad. I highly recommend this film to anyone concerned about the direction that America is heading.

If you were interested in moderation, you would have researched the subject and already be aware of the truth.

You are clearly not interested in the truth... just in spreading your poisonous hatred. Why do you think we can't see through you...?

Enjoy yourself with your tiny group of friends on here... the rest of the world is laughing at you.

Have you tried getting an education...? That might help you.

What is h appening is a result of freedom of expression that was not allowed for decades under the dictators. These feelings were always there but were kept u nder wraps by dictators and their military forces. They are not the majority of Arabs. They are also expressing anger at America for decades of meddling in their politics, for invading Iraq, for supporting dictators who oppressed them, for their still bad conditions and lack of jobs, those conditions that have not changed since the Arab spring. All of these feelings comes tumbling out at once.

If you had been in their shoes you might be rioting. This is not the end of the world. This is the beginning of democracy which includes all segments of society from criminals to educators. If the U.S. were in their shoes you would be angry.

Sorry, why should a moderate muslim have to go and protest against the protestors? Why should they have to be constantly demonstrating their moderateness? Why should that constantly define their lives?
