  • Reenlisting after medical seperation?

I was medically seperated from the navy in 2005. I was given the Reenlistment code RE3P. I was a Seabee, so it was a pretty physical job (construction). Are there any recruiters out there that could tell me what my chances of re enlistment are? I have since completed two years of college if that counts for anything. I would be willing to retake the asvab and fill a needed position.

  • How long would you be a temporary employee before you began looking elswhere?

I am asking because I have been a temp for a little over six months. It is not that long of a time frame to me, but the concern lies with management hiring two people full-time off the street, and looking for a third while i am still a temp. The first two, no one even knew about until they were hired and the announcement was made by the manager. this even upset full time rmployees because the positions were new, and not offered to full time employees first. The third was discovered accidentally while posting an ad on an employment site. When asked about the position I was told that is was a replacement for a woman who put in her notice.

I cant seem to get an answer about my position becoming a full time position. It began as a new position but quickly changed into an existing position due to necessity. I am not doing what I was initially hired to do, but I am flexible and willing to do whatever is asked of me. What would you do?

  • Steps to becoming independently wealthy?

Hi, I am 28 and have not been contributing any money to savings until recently. I Have no credit card debt, approximately $14000 in debt to two vehicle payments, I rent an apartment. I am currently putting all the money I make at my part time job, around $650 per month to paying off my motorcycle which is about $4000. After that I plan on putting the part time job money and the money I was paying on the bike toward the car. I also plan on using my income tax return money toward paying off the car. The goal is to be completely debt free in about 14 months, then I plan to save all the money from the vehicles and the part time job which is about $1155 per month.

Now I wonder what steps I need to accomplish to reach my goal of becoming Independently wealthy. I currently have a goal of $35000 per year.

What are the best steps? I want to purchase a home and get it paid off as soon as possible, I am married and have two children and want to be able to afford some pleasures.

After I pay off my debt, I theoretically could save about $14000 per year. Using my income tax and this savings, I could have a house paid for in about five or six years. Then I could use the money I was paying on a mortgage to save as well, about 600 more dollars bringing my potential monthly savings up to about $1755 per month making about $21000 per year.

Is this a good plan? It is a rough plan, I have contemplated starting a small business eventually or perhaps investing in rental properties. I Wish to continue to work but simultaneously generate a nice passive income that allows me to invest in other opportunities like funding my retirement, college for the kids, ect.

What would be best for me based on my goals, age and amount I can save?

  • Would it be ok to ask my cousin for a loan?

I have a cousin in california that is much older than me, and we hardly know each other. We only talk once or twice a year and have never met. He is the only person I know that could possibly loan me the money, I have tried the bank but they told me my debt to income ratio is too high. I make enough money to repay a loan but the bank will not count the money that I get from the GI bill. I need the money to buy a second vehicle because I am married with two kids and I go to school full time and work part time. I feel uncomfortable asking for the loan because my cousin and I don't have a close relationship and I don't want him to think less of me. Should I ask?

  • Allowed firearm purchase in california, denied in tennessee?

I was recently denied purchase of a firearm in Tennessee. Once appealed I was given a conditional proceed. The dealer would not sell me the firearm with the conditional proceed. The reason for the denial was because of a crime I had committed at the age of twelve that was not properly taken care of by my parents.

How does a rural gun friendly state like Tennessee deny for such reasons, when a gun hating overcrowded state like California Approves?

  • I was asked to write a paragraph about a personal experience, could someone critique it for me please?

It didn’t seem real to me, being sent to war, that is until my company was about to land in Kuwait. ”ATTENTION, ATTENTION” demanded the pilot over the planes intercom. “Prepare for evasive maneuvers, we are scanning the ground for incoming missiles” he stated. That’s when it hit me. I was on my way to a war zone and it was deadly real. I panicked, Quietly, to myself. I clutched the armrest of my chair as I wondered what were the evasive capabilities of a C-5 Galaxy, one of the largest military aircraft in the world. What were the last things my family and I had discussed. Did I tell my mother I loved her? The plane jerked violently. I closed my eyes. I was struck by reality.

    Grammer help please

  • I was asked to write a short statement reguarding my opinion on global warming, could you critique it please?

My opinion of global warming is mixed, millions of dollars a year are spent on advertising indicating the increasing levels of greenhouse gasses that effect global climate are caused by human activity. Other theories involving the natural increase of greenhouse gasses are rarely discussed. In fact, unless you research the subject, you will unlikely hear one of these theories. Although the cause is debatable, facts show our climate is changing.

I believe a combination of human activity and natural phenomena are contributing to our climate change. I think we need to establish a global emissions control standard to reduce the human contribution, but while we take actions to reduce our carbon footprint, our best effort may only slow the possibly inevitable.

  • By placing animals on the endangered species list and providing them with optimal thriving living conditions?

Are we limiting the evolution process? evolution requires extreme hostility to life, should we allow intelligent animals like the great apes to endure their current situations to promote evolution?

I love the animals and would never want to allow them to become extinct.

I guess my question is this, will any animal ever evolve to human or near human intelligence if we continue to provide them with sanctuaries? being that we stop killing them?
