  • Anyone know the details behind blocking on Facebook messenger?

If someone blocks your facebook messages you can't see when they were last active right? So if you can suddenly see when they were last active does that mean they unblocked you?

(someone blocked me but every now and again on the side of my chat box it shows when they were last active, most of the time it's left blank)

Also, if you message someone who has blocked you will they see the messages when they unblock you or do they just not send?

  • Does anyone know the name of this play?

I only remember one scene. It was set in a forest, and a load of teenagers were freaking out because they are convinced they killed this boy they were bullying and they're trying to decide what to do.

I think in the end it turns out he isn't dead. I can't remember much else I'm afraid, other than the first scene is a really long conversation where they don't know what to do, and you find out what they did to the boy and decide how to cover up the 'murder'

  • My laptop won't let me open my documents?

Whenever I click the documents icon on the taskbar my laptop 'refreshes' as in, the taskbar disappears and reappears like it's been refreshed and then the documents won't open. I can open documents in other ways, by using the folders I have on my desktop but the icon won't work.

Also I just discovered that if I right click any documents in my folders when my documents is open (to copy and paste, for example) the refreshing thing happens again and the folders I have open close automatically. I can live with it, I suppose, but does anyone know why this is happening? Or how to stop it? It started a couple of weeks ago and I don't think I did anything to the laptop to make it happen (it's windows 8 btw).

  • Should I tell me parents I'm dropping out or just do it?

So they already know I want to drop out of the university I'm enrolled at (I've found a course at a different one I want to do in September), however they want me to finish this year and then transfer rather than drop out because it'll look better on my application. Although I spoke to the university and they told me it makes no difference whether I'm a late applicant or a transfer.

Thing is, I can't be dealing with all the money I'll waste by staying here for another term, my parents don't care about paying my accommodation bill, but at the end of the day it's another 3-4 grand I'll eventually have to pay back in tuition loans.

So I've pretty much decided to drop out and leave and reapply to a new uni as a late applicant. However I can't bring myself to call them and tell them, because the last few discussions we've had about it all revolve around them basically telling me no, that I need to finish the year.

I know it's my call, they can't stop me, but I genuinely can't confront them, I know if I call and try to assert myself about the decision they'll just shoot me down again. So I'm left with barely any options, do I attempt the call to try and convince them even though I already know how it'll end? Or do I just drop out without telling them since there's nothing they can do once it's done?

  • Can you get out of a contract for accomodation payment?

I want to drop out of university and apply for September. I just informed my parents and they're not happy because they have apparently signed a contract to pay for my accommodation for the whole year and obviously they'll be losing a lot of money if I drop out. The money is paid through direct debit each term and so far only one payment has been made for the last term. The deadline for the second payment is in just over a week.

I'm going to ask the people who own the accommodation and maybe the uni if I have to but what is the likelihood that I can get my parents out of the contract and not have to pay anymore fees if I drop out?

  • How would I go about making a dress out of decks of cards?

I'm going to an anything but clothes party, I had the idea for a dress made entirely out of playing cards but I suck at creative stuff so I have no idea how to go about making it, any suggestions?

Or any suggestions for other outfit ideas for an ABC party?

  • How can I write a court case convincingly?

I'm writing a novel based around a court case (where a man is accused of abduction and eventually found guilty).

Not having studied law, I know little about the process but I'm trying to do research but it all seems very confusing and long winded, so can someone please break it down simply for me?

How the process of prosecution works, how evidence is given, when witnesses are called, how long the process can take etc..

Also some phrases that would be useful, such as lines the judge might use.

It would be happening in the UK so British justice system please.

    Thank you.

  • Can't download any anti-virus software because of a virus?

My windows defender won't turn on because of a virus or malware, I keep trying to get help on the Microsoft website and it recommends things to download to get rid of it but every time I try to run the downloads my computer stops them and tells me it detected a virus in the downloads and won't complete it. Obviously they don't have virus's in them because they're from the official Microsoft website but I can't download them to get rid of the virus I do have because the virus keeps telling me that there are virus's in the anti-virus downloads!

  • If something reminds you of your ex are you not over them yet?

A while ago I tried to get my boyfriend to watch a film with me and he refused, literally would not watch the film I picked out and kept saying he just didn't want to over and over. I kept asking for a reason but he wouldn't give one, just that he didn't want to watch it.

Recently I've learnt it was because the film reminds him of his ex (the emperors new groove and he he used to call her his little llama or something), firstly it annoyed me that he didn't feel he could tell me this, but mostly it bothered me because surely, if he's truly over her, he shouldn't care? As in, it shouldn't even be occurring to him to make the connection.

I mean I never get reminded of my ex even though I still hang out with the person who introduced us and when I watch things we watched together, it just doesn't even enter my mind.

So do you think he's still not over her? I mean their break up was really bad so maybe he's more effected by her than I was by my ex but still it's been over a year he should be over her -_-

  • I've forgotten who my boyfriend is?

Not literally, I know who he is. But at the start of this month I returned from a 3 week holiday with my family and I hadn't seen him for that long, we've been going out for 8 months now and I missed him so very much whilst I was away. We messaged each other as often as we could and we were both going crazy the 3 weeks until I came back, it's the longest we'd been apart.

But when I got home he came over to see me, and I felt really awkward. I'd stopped craving to see him the day I knew I was going home and when he showed up at my house I felt like he was a stranger. It was so weird, he was stood there at my door and I just felt like I didn't know him.

I hugged and kissed him and such as he would expect but I felt really awkward doing so and I have no idea why! I thought maybe I was just nervous but why would I be? Ever since I got home from my holiday I just feel weird around him, like I don't know him and we're in the beginnings of our relationship again.

Yet I remember everything we've done, all our time together and places we've been, but it doesn't feel like we did any of that stuff...if that makes sense.

Every now and again I have some weird moment where I think I've just invented him in my head and he's not a real person...I don't know whether I've got some memory problems or what but it's freaking me out. The last couple of weeks I've just wanted him to leave me alone whereas he wants to keep spending time together to make up for the time we lost but for some reason I just don't want to see him.

I've either forgotten who he is, or I've completely gone off him, which is stupid because I was so upset being apart from him for so long up until the day I saw him again. I really don't know what's going on, should I mention it to him, or would that just freak him out?

  • How much money will I lose if I drop out of uni?

I'm going to university this year, but I'm really unsure about the course I've chosen and I don't think I want to do it anymore (I also picked similar courses in my other choices and I don't think I'll like any of them)

But I think I'll go to the uni in September and see how it is, if I don't like it I'll drop out after a month or so and re apply next year for something else.

Seeing as I've got my student loan and all that, will I get that back when I drop out or will I lose it? Or will I just have to make do with what I've got left of it for next year? (even though I imagine I'll only be losing a few hundred quid or so).

  • Should I carry on with the pill this month?

I take Microgynon 30, I completely forgot to have my 7 day break after a packet and immediately started the second one. I've only taken 3 from the packet so far before I realised and I'm not sure if I should carry on.

I want to stop taking the pills and have my period and then carry on with the packet next week and finish the packet, but it's my last one. If I stop now and have my period in the next few days will I be able to take the next 18 pills from this packet and then have another period after that or will I have to get a new box and take 3 pills from a new packet to get the full 21 days? Or would it be better just to carry on with this packet through to the end (although I'd rather not)

  • He brings up his ex every day?

We've been going out for almost 6 months now, we've both told each other all about our past relationships etc, he's only had one other girlfriend and he brings her up almost every single day.

It's always negative though, I mean he only ever brings up the things he didn't like about her, or stuff she did in their relationship that annoyed him and such. But it really bothers me, I only noticed it a while ago and I thought 'hm, he mentions her a lot' so I basically made a game of it, and now every time I'm with him I wait for him to bring her up, just to see how many days he can go without mentioning her once.

Well he didn't mention her yesterday for the first time in a few weeks but he brought her up again today. Again it's always negative stuff, but it still really annoys me, I mean is he comparing her to me or is he just making strange casual conversation?

  • Can I go near someone with gastric flu?

My boyfriend was diagnosed today, it only started yesterday but it seems to have already calmed down a bit, I saw him pretty much all day yesterday and was very close to him but I feel fine. I really want to go over and see him later but will I catch it if I haven't already? Can I avoid catching it if I don't kiss him or go too near to him?

  • Sarah Kane - Crave, possible?

For my drama piece in college my group and I are thinking about doing Crave, by Sarah Kane

I don't know much about it yet as I've only briefly seen the script, but do you think it would be possible to interpret it in a way to be performed by 3 girls?

We only have to do about 15-20 minutes worth, so not the whole thing, and we can incorporate other people's lines to other characters or I suppose, given the nature of the play, miss out characters all together

Any advice would be appreciated, I think the general assumption is that two of the characters are boys, but do you think it could be done?

    Thank you

  • Why haven't I started my period?

I'm late to start, my due date was three days ago, I usually get cramps a day or two before it's due to start but so far there's been no sign of anything

I was starting to worry I might be pregnant even though I was 99% sure I couldn't be, my boyfriend and I are always safe, so I even took a test today but it came up negative (although did I take the test too soon for it to come up positive if I am?)

What other reasons can there be for it to be late? I've only rather recently lost my virginity and started a sexual relationship with someone could that have something to do with it possibly?

I have no idea if I'm regular or not because I never keep track of it but I've always known when it's about to happen and I definitely know it's late

  • Was she overreacting or am I too relaxed?

Okay, so last night I had some friends over for a New Years party including my boyfriend, our mutual friend Jake, and his girlfriend Kim (my boyfriend had not yet met her previously)

She was pretty quiet all night but she always is when we see her, she only really talks to a couple of people because I think she's a bit awkward around mine and her boyfriend's friends, but she's always very pleasant whenever I've spoken to her, really sweet.

At the end of the night it was just the 4 of us and another of my friends. My boyfriend and Jake started wrestling on my bed, play fighting basically as teenage boys do. I was a little intoxicated but I thought it was cute and I was laughing whilst I was watching them thinking it was all just fun and games (which it was, I mean neither of them were in pain)

But then suddenly Kim just explodes, grabs holds of my boyfriend and yanks him off hers yelling at him to cut it out, she then proceeds to have an argument with my boyfriend about him 'showing off his muscles' and 'proving he's a man' and all this, when all it was was a little play fighting...I mean she went really insane I'd never seen her like that before, really really furious and I couldn't see why

Jake looked really embarrassed and kept awkwardly saying that he wasn't hurt or anything, I was chatting to my mate in the corner trying to avoid the conflict (which I feel kind of bad about that I didn't stick up for my boyfriend, not that he needed it mind but still) and then Kim gets up, I think she was crying, storms out without saying goodbye then Jake left awkwardly after

I think she was seriously overreacting to the whole thing, I mean it was just play fighting! Boys do it all the time, and to blow her top off like that to a guy she'd only just met, my boyfriend and in my bloody house was a bit rude. I mean my boyfriend's quite buff so maybe she was worried he would really hurt Jake but I know he wouldn't have, and anyway they were both laughing whilst they were fighting so what's her problem?

My mate reckons that to keep the peace I should go to her and apologise for my boyfriend's behaviour but I don't think I can because I think she was way out of line (which is a phrase she used to describe what had happened) and I don't know what I'll say to her the next time I'll see her.
