Remote Desktop Question?
I have been using remote desktop while I am at work to connect to a workstation computer in another room with my laptop. I connect using the direct IP address of the workstation and it seems to work very easily while I am at work. The workstation is connected to the same wireless network that my laptop uses when I am at work. For some reason, I cannot connect when I am at home. I am using the same laptop, the same IP address and log on information but I get an error message telling me that I cannot connect. I know that remote desktop is enabled and works on the workstation because I use it every day. Do I need to enable something on my home network to enable remote desktop?
5 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoWhat protects me from being wrongfully fined from my apartment leasing office?
I just moved into my aparment complex a few monthes ago, and I have a large dog. I received a letter on my door stating that I have violated my lease by not picking up after him; next time it happens they are going to charge me. I will be the first one to admit if I was really doing this however, I'm not. I am very carefull about picking up after my dog every time I walk him. Several of my neighbors have dogs, and it must be one of them. Do they need proof to charge me? How can I protect myself from being wrongfully charged? I am worried that I will be unable to prevent them from charging me in the future for something I have no control over. Any advice would be great! Thanks yall.

1 AnswerLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat happens when you have 4GB of video memory on your 32 bit computer?
Hopefully this is a dumb question! I know that a 32 bit operating system caps out at 4GB of total memory, so if you have 2GB of video memory than that leaves 2GB system memory. But how about with these new video cards that would create 4GB of total video memory? Wouldn't this leave no room for system memory? If there isn't any system memory wouldn't this slow down your system instead of speed it up? So whats the point?? Thanks

8 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoIs it normal for my truck's air conditioning compressor...?
to make a leaking noise for a minute after I have used it? I know it is my air conditioning because I tried listening for the noise without running the a/c and I heard nothing after I turned off my truck. My air conditioning stills works and the noise does go away after a few minutes after my truck has been off; im assuming from the compresed air being released. So is this normal or should I have it looked at? Thanks for the help.

8 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoIf three people are on a mortgage and one is getting bought out...?
So I am getting bought out of our mortgage by two other people on it, and I was wondering if it is fair to add fees such as realtor fees etc... out of the amount they are paying me. EX: We owe 136 on the house and it appraised at 160. So in theory I should get a 1/3 or around $8,000 . The other two people are having to get another mortgage on their own. So should I expect to cover fees as if I was selling the house? Or is it different since they are not really buying a new house, they are just buying me out. HELP!!! Thanks

4 AnswersJeep1 decade agoDoes the peace corps discriminate against gay people?
I am applying for the opportunity of a life time in the Peace Corps but I am worried that I may not be accepted because I am openly gay. The website does indicate that they do not openly discriminate but what they actually practice may be different. Anyone who is gay and was (or is) actually in the corps would make me feel better.
