1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoWhat happens in the last 5 minutes of A Might Heart?
Caution: Potential SPOILER
I was watching A Mighty Heart in the theaters a few days ago, but the theater had a "technical" problem that ended the movie about 5 minutes before the end, and they couldn't bring the movie back to where it was stopped. So to whoever has seen it, the last part I saw was that Angelina Jolie receives the bad news about her husband, and is eventually saying thank you to the people who had helped her during the month while they all sat at a table. The movie literally ended as she said "Thank you everyone." What happened next?
3 AnswersMovies1 decade agoIs it harmful to examine your defense mechanisms?
If you examine your defense mechanisms (for a list of these see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_mechanism#Lis... that means you are realizing your weaknesses and lowers your self esteem. It defeats the purpose of a defense mechanism which is to protect oneself from the subconcious insecurities. On the other hand, realizing your weaknesses allows you to improve yourself. Any thoughts?

So lets say I have a some money (like loose change from my travelling) from country A. But then country B forcibly invades country A, and every policy and governmental aspect of country A is lost. 2 AnswersStandards & Testing1 decade agoWould you say that the Chemistry SAT II is the most widely accepted science subject test?
When I find colleges that require specific tests, the science test is usually chemistry. First example that comes to mind is Carnigie Mellon's Tech School that accepts physics and chemistry, but not biology. I believe i have found chemistry more prominent that physics as well.

4 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoAs a general statement , do you believe that risk takers in poker are better player?
Imagine there are two people who are equally skilled at poker; one is just a greater risk taker than the other. From your own experience or knowledge, who is more likely to succeed? And also who is more likely to lose? This question applies to both casino play (when the house has a slight advantage) and head to head (when there is no advantage).
For that matter, do you find risk takers in real life to be more successful?

6 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoQuestion for anyone who is or has taken or taught AP Physics B and/or Calculus BC?
For those currently taking taking or teaching AP Physics B or Calculus BC, can you tell me what topics you have covered in class. For those who took it in past years, what topics do you remeber you covered during the first half of the year.
I have an extremely bad teacher (hes the same one for both classes, and I feel he is going at a very slow pace. I had him last year for Calculus AB and i KNOW he went at a slow pace then.
*The classes meets 2 or 3 times a week for a little over an hour. They last from Sep to May, and it is now mid-Jan and we have not even covered half of all we need to know. As of now our Calculus BC class has been mainly review.
1 AnswerStandards & Testing1 decade agoHow are circidian rhythms controlled in a blind person?
I was just reading about a new study that says that jet lag might have harmful effects to us. But I was wondering, if someone is blind, their body is incapable of knowing whether it is day or night. So what is it that controls them. Are they barely affected by jet lag, since they have adapted to having little trouble adjusting their rhythms?

4 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoon what grounds do anti-abortionists support their cause?
Here is something I dont understand. Only in regards to America, on what grounds can anti-Abortionist defend their stance and propose laws banning abortion. Because if they are basing their stance off of the bible, wouldn't this infringe on seperation of church and state. I don't understand how they are able to limit a freedom that every woman (or parents) should have. And this freedom is written in the Constitution in the 9th amendment (when interpreted). So do the opposers stand on the grounds that abortion is murder? Because still even this issue has been debated on when to consider a fetus a living human. I know that in Judaism, the rabbis specify this issue, but once again isn't that mixing church and state. So if it is murder on which they stand on, who has the authority to determine what is considered murder or not. In my opinion, I believe each individual should be able to constitute their own definition as to what is a murder of a fetus. What are your opinions?
