  • should student athletes in D-1 (division 1) sports should be paid beyond scholarship, room/board?

there are many things to consider in this situation. a few things to consider are: the amount of time that the students put into practice, the fact that the coaches get paid an insane amount of money, the fact that teams have contracts with different companies, the travelling and airtime on tv that students have to do, march madness, etc. etc. it's almost like these student athletes are professionals, but without the millions of dollars that professionals make on top of their scholarships and room/board.

  • In Ringu (1998,) how does Sadako die, who kills her, and why does he kill her?

Please be as brief or as detailed as you want, but names would help immensely. I've been searching the web for a few hours trying to look for the entire plot, but people just give summaries. The information I request above is all I need to get my Asian Studies done. I'm trying to explain how Japanese horror is way scarier because of the cultural elements present in their horror.

  • How do you recieve a Minor Work Authorization form?

Well, I'm 17 and I just applied for a job and I got called for an interview, but I don't have a Minor Work Authorization form. I don't even know how to get it, and neither does the manager of the place where I'm applying to. I've asked some of my friends and they don't know either. If you can tell me how to get one I would be eternally grateful.

  • In your opinion, who is/are the lamest super hero(es) ever created? Who is/are the coolest?

for some reason, i just think that superman is just lame. it has nothing to do with the fact that he wears tights or anything, but it's like he's too super. it seems like he has no personal flaws or anything and has not internal struggle with a darker self within him. it makes it hard for me to relate to the character.

anyway, i like wolverine because he's like a bad guy fighting for the good side. he's definitely not perfect and his attitude is kickass.

  • why are some people so admant in trying to convert people on this website?

It seems like a total waste of time because, when it comes down to it, why would people listen to just anybody who writes anything here? I mean, cool, you think you're going to be saved by Jesus or Allah, or you think that you're going to be in a higher caste when you're reborn, but why do some people just try so hard to convert others to their religion or push their religious beliefs on others? The disrespect that can be displayed on this website concerning religion and beliefs is very juvenile. Any truly mature religious person would respect another person's beliefs. At least, I've seen that kind of mutual respect among religious thinkers (from different religions) who I have spoken with. They disagree, debate and discuss, but never ridicule or force their beliefs on each other. Don't people have the right to figure out what their beliefs are?

  • what is the freakiest/scariest video game that you have ever played?

the scariest game i've ever played is Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly... actually, I just watched my brother play it, but we both were freaked out... it's scary as hell, but it's entertaining, i would recommend it.

  • which bands/artists have become sell outs or so mainstream that it is disgusting?

i can't really think of any at the moment. some say that taking back sunday is a sellout band. well, i used think green day was alright, until they became overplayed and annoying.

this is can also be a sort of "in memorium" for good music...

  • If you grew up speaking different language (and still speak it) do you think in that language?

my mom grew up speaking tagalog (a dialect of the filipino language--she can still speak it), but speaks english now (fluently and almost without an accent). i asked her one day if she thought in tagalog, and she realized that she did. i'm wondering if this is the same for the majority of people who grow up speaking a language other than english.

i'm trying to teach my four-year-old brother how to spell simple words like: car, toy, and cot. but he sits down for five minutes and then gets bored. do you have any tips on games or strategies (besides bribery with candy) that i can use to get him to sit down and pay attention for a little longer?

    here's what i've tried:

    1. reading books

    2. using foam puzzle letters

    3. using leapfrog

  • theatre help, please?

i have to write this paper for drama class stating whether or not i have the romantic world view, the realist world view, or the expressionist world view. i honestly can't decide which one i am. i write plays and stories and they tend to fall into a variety of styles. some of my plays are realistic and deal with realistic characters, while my other plays take place in both dreams and the physical world. however, all of my plays and stories deal with emotions and the reasoning behind them. i think of myself as a realistically optimistic person, if that helps any. ok, thanks for helping.

  • was the da vinci code a good movie? is it worth $9 to go see?

ok, i've read the book. i don't need any information about the theories presented in the movie, and i already have my beliefs all straightened out. this isn't a question for religious debate.

  • How did the Pentagon deal with PTSD in Vietnam War veterans and how are they handling it now?

i'm studying the vietnam war in history class, and i'm a little bit confused as to how the American government treated the Vietnam war veterans, especially since PTSD affected so many of the veterans who came back. any websites would be appreciated. i really would like to know more. i'm also interested in how the American government is handling PTSD in returning Iraq war veterans to see if anything changed as a resuld of the Vietnam war.
