  • How can I connect or link boat motors?

I have an 18 foot powered by electric motors. There are three motor mounts. When configured for higher speeds (25mph), I use two electric motors equally spaced on the transom. For low speed trolling, I use one electric motor centered in the transom. Are there linkages available that will easily allow me to switch between these configurations?

  • I need an electric motor....?

I need an AC electric motor capable of lifting 3000 lbs. Final shaft rpm is going to be around 2.5 RPM through gear reduction. It needs to be reversible, waterproof, thermally/electrically shielded, and the output shaft must not be splined...it is going to be fixed coupled. Any recommendations?!?!?!? Oh, its going to be used to lift and lower a metal gate

  • Anybody know how to rig a cable boat steering system that would work both 1 AND 2 outboard motors? ?

I am looking for a rig that would allow for both steering if one electric motor was mounted in the center of the transom or two electric motors mounted equally spaced. Does anybody have any suggestions... Visuals would be amazing. Thank you in advance!

  • I have a question about mechanical, cable boat steering systems?

How does a mechanical / cable steering system work for a small boat. I looked at the Teleflex and Uflex systems, but I don't understand how they work. The cable looks as if its attached to a bar at the end that attaches to the motor or mounting on the transom. But does this work like a hydraulic system where the "push/pull" of the cable is enough to push the motors, or does it need to be wrapped about pulleys and use springs to create enough tension to move the motors when the steering wheel is moved?

  • I am looking to buy a new semi-automatic pistol, caliber suggestions?

I have been shooting long guns for about 10-12 years now... Only recently did I begin shooting handguns. Started off with a 22, and then moved on to a medium frame 357 magnum. wow. did that thing kick. lol. My question is how much more or less would a 40 or 45 caliber pistol kick as compared to the 357. Also, assuming a full size barrel for the pistol, what about a noise comparison. As I am just beginning to shoot handguns, I don't want to develop a flinch. Thanks everyone.

  • Should we treat some aspects of appearence as disabilities thus forbidding discrimination on these characteris

Ralph Nader long ago suggested that the people most discriminated against in society are those who are the least attractive. Scientific studies have suggested that we all haev an innate bias towards more attractive individuals. "Those individuals who depart so significantly from the most commonly held notions of beauty that they incur employment discrimination are poorly treated in such diverse contexts as employment, criminal sentencing, and apartment renting. "

SHOULD WE TREAT ASPECTS OF APPEARENCE AS DISABILITIES THUS FORBIDDING DiSCRIMINATION. IF SO, WHAT CHARACTERISTICS AND HOW DO YOU DEFINE THEM?
