Someone please direct me to code, law, or regulations in Nevada that concern maximum occupancy of residences.?
how many people can live within how many square feet in a home in Nevada, or specifically Clark County? For instance, can a family of 10 legally live in 500 square feet?

3 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoWhen should contractions be used in fiction writing?
I am of the opinion that contractions are fine in dialogue or if the writer intends to be more whimsical in tone.
However, at least one writer claims that contractions can be used in any fiction writing and that using whole words instead of contractions is formal and archaic.
So, what do you think? When are contractions ok and how does it affect the tone?

2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoIs a month long juice feast really healthy?
I've studied testimonials of folks who have gone over ninety days without eating solid food, instead they swallow raw fruit or vegetable juices. They claim to have lost a lot of weight and have gained a vibrancy they never had before. I have not heard of any downsides besides the initial detoxification in the first couple of weeks. I'm wondering if there is a long-term health problem associated with such practice.
5 AnswersAlternative Medicine1 decade agoWhy does the European "Burning Nettle" not burn if you hold your breath when touching?
When I was in Switzerland my Swiss Aunt taught me that I could touch burning nettle and not get burned if I held my breath. It worked and I am wondering whether there is a scientific reason based in chemistry or whether it was merely the power of suggestion.
1 AnswerBotany1 decade agoHow can I harden dirt in my yard?
Looking for ways to harden my yard so that I won't track much dust into my house.
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow can I harden the fine, dusty soil in my yard?
I live in Las Vegas, where it does not rain much. We have plenty of dust here, especially when it is windy. I live on a dusty lot and would like to harden up the surface soil inexpensively and was wondering if there was a product or a method for doing so. I had considered pouring bags of concrete around the yard, raking it smoothly, and watering it, but I don't think that will look good and I will end up with chunks of concrete I'll have to dispose of if I want to dig around in my yard. I was also wondering if hardening my soil would reduce the amount of weeds.
I do not want to lay chat.
4 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoShould the word "crotch" be used when describing an impending love scene?
This book is not a comedy nor a per se romance and would probably fit the genre "chick lit".
The protagonist is a pretty female who recurrently meets up with the male protagonist. In one scene, they are about to get hot and heavy and the heroine, in the first person narrative, refers to her nether region as "crotch".
The author seems to think that the word "crotch" is perfectly fine in this context. However, I think that the word has a sort of derogatory or vulgar connotation better suited for raunchy humor or a fight scene. I wouldn't think that the main character, who happens to write for a living, would refer to her own anatomy as "crotch" during a non-humorous sex scene.

8 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoAre these good classifcations of good and evil? Are there more? Examples?
What is the difference between good and evil?
More specifically, suppose we have the following categories a person or action can fall under:
Ruthless Good--Justice with no mercy
Ruthless Evil--Injustice with no mercy
Compassionate Good--justice with mercy
Compassionate Evil--injustice with mercy
Can you provide examples of each? I have a few, listed below and am wondering what others think.
Ruthless Good--"eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth mentality", death penalty without regard for the convicted person's circumstances.
Ruthless Evil--serial killer/rapist, bomber of public places
Compassionate Good: rewards good behavior and punishes bad behavior while taking into consideration the circumstances for the behavior.
Compassionate Evil: rewards bad behavior such as providing welfare support to folks that do not exercise sound judgment, sparing the rod and spoiling the child.
I think most of us are compassionate good/evil. And a few are ruthless good/evil. What do you think?

3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoIf you have purchased a video off the net, how do you know whether its pirated?
Suppose a person searches for a TV series on DVD from the 1990s and when it is received it looks like a copy, could the DVDs be legal or pirated--and how does one know?
The series was out on official video cassette at one point and the DVDs are coming out in the stores now, but the purchased DVDs could be legal, couldn't they?
If it is illegal, the seller should get in trouble for duping an innocent purchaser.

4 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoIs Michael Vick worse than most meat eaters?
Michael Vick did a terrible thing. He hung, drowned, tortured and forced dogs to fight.
Now, I ask you, how is that any worse than what our meat industry does to beef, pork, fowl, and fish?
As consumers of such "food", are we not endorsing cruelty to animals?

18 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade agoWhy are no cadidates talking about our diminishing water supply?
The Southern, Western, and South-western United States has been in a drought for years. Our potable water is diminishing to a degree that we have to ration it. Water is one of the most important resources in the world and one of the resources most taken for granted and ignored as an area of concern. The next president will likely be confronted with the issue of water and yet we hear nothing from any of the candidates about something that will affect a large part of the US. I am sure that a problem affecting so many states will have to be addressed on a Federal level and will likely result in Federal De-salting plants being built on the ocean. Why is no one talking about it?
