1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks4 years agoHow come by total answers drops but points go up?
Often when I log on to YA, my total number of answers goes down even as my points go up. I have 6 less answers than I did a few hours ago, but 1 more point.
None of my answers are real violations, but is it possible people are reporting them?
No answers are offensive or non answers in any way.

3 AnswersDiet & Fitness4 years agoIn NYC and other rent control cities what prevents a landlord from terminating a lease with one tenant to move in a new tenant?
(obviously once the lease expires).
It is my understanding that a landlord can raise rent significantly when a brand new tenant moves in, but can only raise it by a small percent (ie 2 percent) when the current tenant stays.
3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate4 years agoWhich NJ state office can prove that it is in fact legal to use a dining room as a bedroom?
I live in a small town so the local officials aren't that experienced.
The landlord was likely told a dining room cannot have added walls to make it a fully enclosed bedroom, they interpreted that to mean you can't use it as a bedroom at all.
But, it would be legal to put bedroom furniture in there and maybe hang a curtain or put up some room dividers.

5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs5 years agoIf it is still okay to use the word retarded, is is still okay to use the N word as it used to be acceptable?
DSM 5 (2013) ICD 10 (2015) as well as The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD formerly AAMR) have all dropped the term mental retardation as it is considered to be offensive.
The current accepted term in INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY. Intellectual disability and mental retardation do in fact mean the same exact thing.
This person seems to be saying that intellectual disability and retarded are not actually the same thing.
Recently, a person who lists herself as a medical professional with 42 years experience insisted that it is okay to use the offensive term retarded now, because she correctly used it appropriately for 42 years in the past.
By that reasoning, since the term retarded was acceptable in the past as was the N word, it would be acceptable to still use the N word.
Does this make any sense?

2 AnswersRenting & Real Estate5 years agoIs it acceptable for a very young service dog in training to be taken to no pets areas solely for socialization?
The owner has spent many days in a no pets recreation area bringing the dog up to people to play and socialize all day long. He claims he has papers it is a service dog. He actually approaches people with the dog, its not the people approaching the service dog. The dog is 20 months old

2 AnswersCredit5 years agoHow often do lawns need to be treated with pesticides in suburban NJ?
I live in an HOA. I spent a lot of time sitting outside and have not noticed any pest issues. They have now treated the lawn 3x in the last 4-6 weeks. It is annoying because now I can't go on the lawn with my dog (He does know not to pee on that area...a little trick I figured out that he won't pee where he eats...so I scatter food around occasional..and he doesn't pee there).

12 AnswersAdoption5 years agoHow do I handle a fraudulent doctor bill?
I have medicare. I reported the fraud to them, but they took the falsified records as proof the service was rendered and disregarded my receipts and offer to check my phone GPS records to prove I couldn't have possibly been there that day.
The doctor is charging the copay. I am disabled and low income. I don't have the money to waste on a fraudulent charge.
Would I have to sue the doctor? If it goes to collections it could ruin my credit, but could I dispute it through collections?
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics5 years agoHow does eviction from an owned trailer in a trailer park work?
Can the park owner force the owner to move the trailer or sell it?
This would be for letting a dog run off leash repeatedly (in violation of the land lease).
And no, it is not me. I would never take that chance with the dog's life as she is oblivious to danger (cars, etc).
I am trying to explain to my friend why she needs to leash the dog.
