(Girls) Why is it assumed?
Why is it assumed that guys are supposed to approach you if they like you/find you attractive?
It is not our jobs, it hasn't been this way in society for 100 years. So why is it assumed if we don't come up to you at every possible moment that you consider yourself "not approachable"? Where did this vast misconception even begin that girls aren't supposed to approach a guy and tell them they like them?
This has gotten to the point where if I know a girl is expecting me to ask her out or tell her I like her she's taken completely off the radar for not being able to act for herself.
Am I wrong here? Have I gone further off the rocker than I think?
3 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoWhy do Y!A girls always blame "guys"?
Everytime I'm on here I'll read some bogus story about how all guys are ******* or how boyfriends are always mistreating you and not catering to your every need.
Well what hardwired Lifetime movie stereotype teaches yall to seek out jerks and then blame all men for your poor decision making skills when it comes to men?
I understand that 90% of these posters are 16 and younger and at that age your just trying to look "OMGZ AWESOME!" with your "Im one bad mother" of a boyfriend but then end up crying all over the place and taking it out on the 80% of us that are worth a damn.
5 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoBaby Boomers out of politics?
Is anyone else excited for the day that Baby Boomers leave politics? Why?
Albeit not for another 20-30 years but I feel many of our politically stagnating problems are stemming from the Boomer voting bubble.
5 AnswersPolitics9 years ago*Repeat* 20 yrs old and younger please.?
Not necessarily the right section but this is the area in which most "youngins" reside.
As I read through some of these questions on Y!A I'm often re-reading a question five or six times to try and make sense as to what the person is even asking. It is almost as if my brain is hemorrhaging every time I get on here.
So, American youth, what language are you speaking and where did you learn to talk/type/write like that?! For the love of all that is holy please give the educated masses a Rosetta Stone!
Do today's K-12 teachers find it harder and harder to understand your students? Are they often very far behind on their language skills?
PS- I'm only 24 and know full well it wasn't this a** backwards a decade ago. I'm no road scholar either but sweet jesus what is happening?!

9 AnswersTeaching9 years agoChild and Teen Television effecting future generations?
Do you think that the mentally insulting programs on MTV and the Disney Channel (Dora the Explorer, c'mon) specifically are harming our children in the long run? I can't seem to understand why a parent would allow, or even encourage, their children to watch these programs. Why aren't we showing our kids informative shows like those on the Discovery Science Channel or NatGeo?
Don't tell me, "Kids will be kids!" either. We all know that they will take interest and soak up pretty much anything placed infront of them so why dumb down your own off spring like that?
2 AnswersOther - Social Science1 decade agoA question for Obama Supporters.?
Many democrats, liberals, republicans and conservatives are on here all the time bashing one another with less than educational answers.
With so many people backing what the current administration has done in the last couple of months; creating TRILLIONS of dollars out of thin-air, talks of nationalizing the banking/auto/healthcare industries, and tries at creating a youth security force. How can you sit there and agree with any of these things? My real question is if any of you, either side of the party lines, actually investigate what these decisions will do to the United States? Do any of you understand the implications of creating that much money out of no-where?
I question if you know a single worthy thing about economics; I question if you understand the implications that hyper-inflation will have on you, your spouse, your children, everyone.
When it comes down to it are you willing to pay 3 or 4 times what you are now for a loaf of bread when your still making your same salaries? Are you willing to watch your bank accounts dwindle as the money you have in there is worth less and less? While at the same time the government, whether it be Republican or Democrat, will have to tax you immensely more just to fund these new programs.
Why has no one brought up a single one of these things? Where will this ultimately lead our country to?
6 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoIs Obama's Paramilitary Organization Mandatory?
I've heard that Obama's Youth Corp is mandatory for adolescents ages 18-24 and is supposed to be a civilian paramilitary organization?
Furthermore when this conscription does begin happening if they come to my door would it be permitted to tell them no?
Finally, when this begins happening, how far off do you think the revolution is?
5 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoSecession scares the left?
When Capitalists and the majority of Laissez-faire American's whisper of secession why does the Socialist/Leftist supporter deny that its a possibility? Does the idea of a splitting America scare them due to a lack of willing tax payers to agree to their terms? Or do you believe it is due to a "sit back and take it" attitude?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoCitizen tensions leading to resenting the government?
With the United States being split to almost polar opposites about an actually serious issue such as increased Socialism and nationalizing certain private industries in these gloomy economic times do you find yourself resenting the government and the laws it enforces upon you?
Take for instance if I received a letter in the mail from the city that I had a tree overhanging in the alley I would comply without problems. But today I feel as though if that happened I hold no social responsibility towards the government.
Before anyone answers, no this is not meant to be an anti-establishment anarchist question. We all know anarchy is impossible and detrimental to the human species.
2 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWith the US leaning towards Socialism...?
With our current president and his congressional followers talking of nationalizing many failing US corporations and banks, not to mention nationalizing health care, free college for students, etc,. How far flung an idea do you think secession is?
18 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoThe Common Exam Question, All of the Above.?
I've been bothered by these questions on tests my entire life, their ridiculous. Throughout High School teachers would label me as a smart *** for raising this point, but I was dead serious. Eventually taking the question to one of my college professors and convincing him of the ridiculous nature of these questions.
We have all seen them, but they usually go something like this:
Which of the following is in a city? (I know stupid but its an example)
A. People
B. Buildings
C. Governments
D. All of the Above
If I answer "B" I would get this question wrong on a test, but technically what is defined by answer "B" is in a city therefore making it a viable answer to the question. In fact, 100% of the answers were correct to that question
Does this academic idiocy bother anyone else? Surely I am not the first person to have this insight so why do teachers continue to belittle their intelligence by putting these questions on tests?
1 AnswerStandards & Testing1 decade agoWill humans over-extend their ability to communicate?
So I started thinking about where humans could be in a couple hundred if not thousand years.
Obviously we will have reached interstellar travel and be able to colonize planets to our specific liking. So here's where I reached my problem.
Even if we are able to achieve light speed travel (which is highly doubted in the Psychics community) there is no way to be able to communicate at such a speed, so if we were a light year away from the point of origin of the message it would take ridiculously longer for that message to reach the point of ending. Thus making communication useless.
So are we stuck to reside within just the closest stars to Earth? If not just our own Solar System?
