7 AnswersCooking & Recipes6 years agoWhy do I get dizzy after eating avocado?
I notice after eating avocado, I feel slightly dizzy and lightheaded for about an hour. I love avocado and make a delicious guacamole, and also sometimes a kale and avocado salad. Not often, usually for parties or when guests are over. The only other thing that ever did this to me was aspirin which I can't take now because my doctor says I may be allergic to it. But usually when I am allergic to something, I break out in hives and wheeze. So are avocados known for making some people dizzy? LOL! I wonder how it does this.
5 AnswersAllergies6 years agoHow do I make a box cake mix cake in a crock pot?
I don't have access to a conventional oven. Only a 5 quart crock pot with low, high and warm settings. I have a box cake mix and the necessary eggs, oil and water. How do I make the cake? Can it be done?

19 AnswersOther - Food & Drink6 years agoDoes this fit with how a cocaine user would behave?
Is it typical of a cocaine user to be aggressive or short tempered, stomping around (walking as if angry), restless and manic? The reason I ask is that there is a person at work who is like this and when we were recently both in the ladies room, she went into a stall and it sounded like she snorted then did this sneeze/cough about four times. Around the office, she always seems very hyper as well. Her eyes frequently look bloodshot. She is socially a loner.
2 AnswersOther - Health6 years agoDo you have a story about an apartment stomper?
You know, the horrible situation where upstairs neighbors stomp around instead of walking softly? I have a friend who is going through something of a nervous breakdown after fighting such a problem for almost 8 months. He started out trying to be friendly to them and talk about the need for carpet, etc. Eventually went to his landlord. At this point, he has insomnia and dreads going home. He is actually trying to move! It got me thinking and I wondered if others have stories about this kind of situation. Apparently, it is not an easy problem to solve.
2 AnswersRenting & Real Estate6 years agoIs it normal age appropriate behavior fot a 76 year old man to nap several times a day?
Do healthy 76 year old men take frequent naps in the day time, dozing in a recliner or on a sofa midmorning and in afternoon? Or is that a concern in terms of health?
2 AnswersMen's Health6 years agoHow can I help my dad stop playing solitaire on his phone?
My dad is 78. About 8 months ago, he bought a smartphone. This is pretty amazing in that he never had a cell phone before. But now he is obsessed with playing the solitaire game on it. Constantly. I mean for hours. If he is not watching jeopardy or napping, he is on the smartphone..staring hypnotized at the screen. We go out to dinner, out comes the smartphone at the table. He even pulls it out during coffee hour after church. The entire family is fed up. Nothing we do stops him. He says we are all overreacting. I think it is realistic to limit phone use to less than 5 hours a day! I think he needs serious help.
3 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships6 years agoWhy does grief feel like a tidal wave?
When someone dies and one is grieving, why does it feel like a tidal wave that overwhelms one minute and then there are periods of time it seems like things will be ok, tolerable, and almost normal, but when you start to laugh or just be normal it comes back. Why does the intensity come and go? Almost as if "forgetting" it on purpose for a little bit but them remembering it, over and over.
1 AnswerPsychology6 years agoWhy does my sons teacher mark his spelling as wrong when he says the plural of hoof is hooves?
My sons fourth grade teacher insists that the plural of hoof is hoofs. I looked it up and it is hooves. I did see that the plural of roof is roofs where it was once rooves but changed at some point in the last century or so.

2 AnswersCelebrities7 years agoRemember Ebola Reston?
Remember when Ebola was in the US in the 1980s? In Reston Va, not far from DC. It was in a monkey laboratory but some workers got it..but the Reston strain in people was like a bad cold or something if I recall correctly. It killed monkeys. I remember hearing about it when I was in college, from a biology professor.

3 AnswersAllergies7 years agoCan someone explain how it is determined whether one has thyroid disease?
Ok, I know about the tests for TSH, FT3, FT4, etc. But my point is, my mother was tested for almost three years by two different doctors and always they said it was normal. Well, she started really having symptoms much worse like losing her hair, shivering, anxiety, confusion etc...so she went to an endocrinologist. He said all those years her tests were telling her her counts fluctuated significantly for her. He put her on meds and she got well. So why do doctors look at a test result and say it's normal if it is not?

7 AnswersInvesting7 years agoAtheists, forget about God/god/sky daddy/etc for a moment......?
Do you consider the principle of justice for human need which this glimpse of Jesus reveals to have been his message, based on legitimate scholarship that is not out to prove he was god, to be worthy of the discussion about human spirituality? (By spirituality, I mean in respect to wholeness as human beings and not to religion).
