My first day at school a Catholic Convent, in the Assembly hall there was, an almost life sized depiction of Christ on the Cross, as I remeber it, very graphic, much blood and very long thorns crushed into Christs head - I broke down into hysterical weeping and was unable to be passified - so much so my elder brother had to take me home.

My second 'traumatic' experience was when Sister Mary Patrick informed us that babies that were not baptised into the Catholic Church would spend their eternity in Purgatory and could never be saved.

This result in me having terible nightmares and distress for many years. I still find the idea very disturbing.

Was I just a very sensitive child, or have others been disturbed by religious teachings.

I have seen questions removed for all sorts of reasons, but in the religious/spirtuality section it seems to be about an infringement on a belief system.

Isn't the point about religious dogma it will not be questioned or criticised.

I've been reading the Bjon Borg bio, he says in the end he just ran out of motivation.
