  • Thinking of getting a Pug as a companion for my French Bulldog?

I have a 5 year old Frenchie who I adopted 2 years ago from a breeder who no longer wanted her. She is sweet and gentle. A wonderful companion but I can tell she misses being around other dogs. When she sees other dogs at the park she gets excited and acts just like a puppy. That said, I am thinking of getting a Pug so she can have a buddy. Does anyone have experience with these 2 breeds? Do you think they will get along? I've though of getting another Frenchie but they are difficult to come across through rescue (healthy ones anyway).

  • Should I move in with my grandmother and become her caretaker?

I recently sold my home in NY with the intention of moving to FL. I began having second thoughts about the move a while ago and thought about buying another condo here in NY.

For years my aunt has lived with my 90 year old grandmother but recently decided to move away (to Florida ironically). Grandma needs someone to live with her, prepare her meals, help her with daily tasks etc. I love my grandmother very much but she and I do not have the closest relationship. She can be very mean and her cantankerous personality has only gotten worse with age.

Grandma owns and lives in her own condo here in NY (on the beach BTW). My other 3 aunts and my mother do not know what they will do about her care. We don't believe in nursing homes but there might not be any other alternative unless I move in with grandma and become her caretaker. And of course I get to keep the condo on the beach when she passes away. I am not sure what to do. I love my grandmother but living with her will not be easy. However I am retired so I have the availability and I just sold my home and haven't purchased another yet so the timing is uncanny! What would you do? Would you move in with and care for your ornery 90 year old grandmother?

  • Should I give this nice guy a chance?

There is a very nice gentleman who has had a crush on me for over 15 years. Now that I am single he would like me to finally give him a chance and go out with him. I am hesitant because he works in my community, which is how I know him. I have lived in the same place for 40 years. I know everyone and they all know me. Should I take a chance with someone who works where I live, aka sh*t where I eat? Or should I avoid the situation altogether?

He is the head of the maintenance department in our huge co-op complex, very sweet and good looking but also a couple of inches shorter than I am. I realize that shouldn't be a factor but I am 5'10" and have never dated a short man before. Any objective thoughts?

    Thanks

  • Suggestions for authentic Jamaican recipes?

I am moving to Jamaica next month. I am a good cook in general but don't have a lot of experience with Jamaican cuisine. I would love to have a few good recipes down pat before I go. I've already mastered my rice and peas. Any suggestions on good authentic dishes that my hubby will love? Any seasonings that I should be sure to have on hand? Any suggestions are much appreciated.

    Thx

  • I am an American moving to Jamaica in 2 months with my husband, who is a returning resident.?

What can I expect culturally? Any suggestions on good neighborhoods near Kingston to live? Is it worth shipping toiletries and necessities instead of buying them there? Do I need a round trip ticket in order to get through customs?
