My boyfriend bought a new apartment that is being built and we are supposed to be moving in next year. The problem is, the apartment is terrible. Terrible location, the apartment itself is badly planned out, and the view is absolutely hideous. But the worst part is I am very afraid of heights and the apartment is on the 8th floor. When we were looking at the construction today I almost cried (I would have cried if the architect wasnt there, I didnt want to look like an idiot). I absolutely don't want to move there, but I don't know how to prevent it or even approach the topic. My boyfriend bought the apartment with his grandmother, its mostly her that is most adamant about us moving in there (my boyfriend also isnt a big fan of the apartment). How should I approach the topic? I don't want to hurt their feelings, a lot of money and effort went into this apartment, but I can't sleep at night its causing me so much stress.

Help please :(

We are moving to a brand new apartment building next year. We hired an architect to plan out the walls, rooms, bathrooms, etc. So the builders already put in all the walls, but it turns out that the architect did a terrible job. For example, we were supposed to have a bathtub in our bathroom but there is only a bit over a yard designated for it... Only a small child would be able to fit into a bathtub that size. And thats not the only problem, the bedroom is also so small that a bed will barely fit.

Is there any legal foundation for us to get our money back or to make him pay for fixing everything (if its even possible at this point)?

I called a few repair companies and they said replacing the glass will cost ~150$. Since the glass costs 10$ on amazon there is no way I am paying someone 150$ for the replacement. So I will do it myself.

The ipad is black, but I was thinking since I am switching out the front that maybe I could switch colors. Is it possible or would it look bad?

Its the last day of my internship, not really even a last day, Im just going in to present my project and fill out papers needed for passing the internship.

It is a tech company, so everything is relaxed and people usually wear jeans and tshirts. The thing is, its really really hot outside today, and I dont have a car, I travel by bus.

Do you think it would be acceptable to wear a short skirt? Its a really nice skirt, and i have a nice black shirt to wear with it, however I'm nervous about wearing a skirt that is *too* short. I dont want to come off as unprofessional, however at the same time I think I'd die if I had to wear pants today.

PS. I have only mini skirts and mini dresses. I have nice legs so I usually dont bother with buying midi skirts. So I can't just wear a longer skirt cuz I dont have one :(

This morning I started my computer and started looking at my email. Suddenly the mouse clicking would not work; the pointer was still moving, but clicks were unresponsive.

I unplugged the mouse and put it back in, and it stopped responding at all. I tried another mouse, also wouldnt work. I kept getting the message `USB device not recognized; The last USB device you connected malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it".

I tried restarting the computer, unplugging it for a few minutes, nothing works. I tested both mice on a different computer, they work fine. Its just my PC that is suddenly having this issue.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

I'm freaking out a bit and I could use some external input on this.

Well i sent in the first draft of my entire thesis, and my promoter replied that he "likes it". He didnt say if its good or bad, just that he "likes" it. At first I thought that he meant that it was great (why would he like it if its bad?) but when I told my boyfriend this he made a strange face....

So, what do you think it means when my promoter "likes" my work? ...

I didnt have anything sweet to eat at home and so I decided to make caramel candy. So I made some and I poured it out onto wax paper to let it set. Stupid stupid me wanted to smell it and I accidentally touched the tip of my nose to the super hot mixture. Pain, panic, and I realized what happened and took the candy off my nose with my finger (finger is also badly burned). So I decided to put a cool compress on my nose. When I took the compress off it took the skin from the tip of my nose with it. The tip of my nose has a big raw hole, around the size of a dime. What should I do with it? It looks like it needs to be cleaned and covered, but how? Its saturday night where I am and all the stores are closed, I dont have any gauze or medications...

What is a good method/place to find participants for an online experiment?

I'm doing research for my masters thesis in psychology and I am having difficulties finding participants. I thought that it would be easier to find people online that in person, you know, cuz almost half the planet has internet access... but I'm having trouble reaching people.

I tried posting the link on reddit on a subreddit designed for finding pariticpants, but people thought i was a spammer...

Anyone have any ideas?

I have less than a month to finish my MA thesis and I'm really starting to feel the time pressure. Normally i'd go to spanish class, but I feel like my time today would be better used on my thesis...

I can't decide what to do....What do you think?

My MA thesis is about attitudes. I have a general outline for my thesis and I have quite a lot written already, however I am having doubts about how detailed, or actually how basic i am supposed to be in my presentation of the topic. Should I assume that the reader has some knowledge on the topic? Or should it be more like a book chapter on the topic, providing a thorough explanation of everything?

I have delayed phase sleep disorder and I am trying to find an area or work that does not require being in the office at 9, but apart from freelancing and weird night shift jobs there is pretty much nothing!

Why, in the 21st century, do we still have the 9-5? Its so stupid, like a relict from the times when we had to get up at dawn to feed the chickens and cows. The world has changed, people live different lives now! Why still keep the 9-5?

For example I was reading an article about a day in the life of a brand manager. The guy wakes up at 6, read emails in at work by 8-30. Then at 5 pm they end work and have martinis with co workers. So what, people torture themselves and deprive themselves of precious sleep so they can have drinks at 5? That seems so messed up to me....

I am going to be conducting a psychological study, and I have to select a cover story for the procedure, meaning a story to hide the true nature of the study. I am using the theme of politics, and participants will be asked a series of questions about their political opinions and will then look at candidates and answer questions regarding them. Also there will be a couple of bogus tasks, like selecting a flag and who will sing at a sports event. However, I can't decide which version of the story i should use. I have two options:

a) the participant has won a presidential election and has to help create a new government

b) a new country was formed and all decisions are democratic, so the "citizen" (participant) has to answer questions regarding matters of their country

Which version of the story do you think would be more interesting/engaging for the participants?
