I am seventeen years old, and will be eighteen this August. I am going into my senior year of high school, and plan to attend college right after. I am interested in joining the National Guard. I have sent my recruiter my contact info. I was wondering if you could explain to me, in layman terms, what my life would be like, what time of time commitment this would include (like how long are trainings, what do they include?) and how it would coincide with my college/high school life. Could I join in high school if I am 18 and planning to graduate and attend college?

I'd like to get a pair of boots. Maybe some leather boots. I usually wear a t-shirt and loose-ish jeans, and have never owned a pair of boots. I only know of one boot company, Dr. Martens. I found it on Google.

What are some other non-Ugg boots, and what kind of boots would go with my type of style? Links or website names please?

I'm trying to get into photography, and live in Los Angeles. I have a Canon Rebel XS. Three questions:

1. Getting into photography. Any tips, suggestions, like on composition/exposure?

2. How do I get pictures? I mean, I feel kind of awkward walking around a city taking pictures. Also, wahat about places like parks? It would be weird for someone to just start taking pictures of you, wouldn't it? What is the social standard - like do you just start taking pictures? Do you ask? If so, how?

3. Any ideas of pictures I could take in LA? Can anyone direct me to a good LA photography album?

I can't seem to find a news radio station in Los Angeles - can someone give me a list? Does MSNBC have one, or CNN?

My high school expects students to wear "dress shoes" on chapel days. Here are the expectations:

"No athletic shoes. No open-toed shoes."

Even though it says no athletic shoes, would black monochrome leather converse work?

I would like to start turning in my soda cans and water bottles for cash. I live in Los Angeles - how much can I get per bottle or can?

I am going to launch a blog that is aimed at people who are technologically decrepit. It will show them the basics of computers and things that may make their lives easier. I need a name for it though. Any ideas?

I was thinking something like "ditchyourtypewriter.com/org/net" but I would rather have something shorter, or some smart phrase. If you could just brainstorm random ideas, that would be great.

Also, if you had any other ideas for this blog I am making, that would be great too.

I am deciding whether to get a Samsung Galaxy Tab or a Droid 3. Yes, I am aware one is a phone and one is not. Here's the deal: I don't use my phone a lot, but it would be nice to have something like my iPod touch that I could use as a phone. Right now I have an iPod touch and I like to play games on it and such. It would be nice to have a 3G plan with it. Or should I get a Samsung Galaxy Tab? That would be bigger - not sure whether that would be a pro or con. And if Samsung Galaxy tab, I use Verizon so 7 inch or 10 inch?

The thing is that I don't use my phone so much, but I might use it more if I had a Droid 3. However, I am not eligible for an upgrade until next July...so should I get a Samsung Galaxy Tab?

Please don't suggest anything other than the two devices I am considering.
