Vera Bradley bag advice?
I feel a little silly asking this, but I figure you all might have some good experiences/advice to share.
My mom has asked for a new Vera Bradley travel bag for Christmas and I'm stuck on which style to get her (I know which pattern she'd like). She needs it for a weekend/overnight bag and she's said that it must have inside pockets. She currently has the Miller bag but it's a tad too small for her needs, so I'm looking to go a bit bigger.
I'm thinking of going with the Weekender or the Super Tote... Does anyone have either of these bags? Do you think it's large enough for your stuff? How's the carrying strap?

1 AnswerFashion & Accessories1 decade agopuppy nail clipping -- traumatic!?
We have a 7 month old Boston Terrier and as part of her weekly hygiene, we have to clip her nails so that they don't get too long and give her foot problems (as the vet has warned us against). When we try to do this, she squirms and cries and yelps and scratches; she's absolutely terrified for seemingly no reason. The first few times we cut her nails everything was fine and we always give her treats while we cut her nails. We have an older Boston Terrier (6 years) and he doesn't love getting his nails clipped but he doesn't get all crazy like the little one.
Does anyone have advice or tips/tricks on how to get this done less traumatically for the dog and the humans? Thanks!
Note: To add one more detail, tour puppy is deaf, which I don't think makes a difference with the nail clipping per se, but "making comforting noises" and the like isn't going to help. We do hold her and pet her while we're clipping her nails, though.
7 AnswersDogs1 decade agoSet up basic website?
I've purchased a domain name at GoDaddy.com, now I need to know the next steps for setting up a nice-looking, not very complicated website (3 pages, max).
I'm thinking I should purchase a template? Or is there somewhere I can get decent templates for free? I do not have all the know-how (or time, really) to do all the coding myself, so a template is the next best thing (or so I've heard?).
Lastly, once I have a template and customize it with our photos and text, I need to know how to get that on the domain I bought at GoDaddy.
THANK YOU!
4 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoHistorical Fiction recommendations?
I've been reading a ton of historical fiction set in Great Britain and Japan/China, but I'm not necessarily looking to stay in those areas (but I'll take those recommendations, too!). Does anyone have any recommendations for novels set in other countries? Africa, Germany, Canada, Mexico (or anywhere in South America - I don't think I've read anything set there), Australia...
It doesn't have to be a love story, either, I'm all for war stories, family dramas, general unrest... ;)
I'd also be interested to know if anyone's read any really good American historical fiction, something that would get "My Brother Sam is Dead" out of my head as what American historical fiction is like (bad memories from middle school English class).
Some of my favorites:
Memoirs of a Geisha (A. Golden)
The Street of a Thousand Blossoms (G. Tsukiyama)
The Tea House Fire (E. Avery)
The Bonesetter's Daughter (A. Tan)
The Other Boleyn Girl (P. Gregory)
Fool (C. Moore)
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay (M. Chabon)
Beneath a Marble Sky (J. Shors)
The Twentieth Wife (I. Sundaresan)
Thank you!
5 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoApple MacBook hard drive "refresh" or "clean up"?
I've had my MacBook (13" white) for what will be be three years in November 2009. I did purchase the extended AppleCare, but that only adds two years to the one year warranty that comes with the MacBook, so I won't be covered for replacements, etc., after November.
I'm wondering if anyone knows if Apple offers some sort of "refresh" program? Maybe making an appointment with a Genius at an Apple Store and taking the notebook in for a "check up"? This is my first Apple notebook - I know on a PC how to defragment the hard drive and basically "clean" things up, so I'm wondering if I can do the same thing for the MacBook to make sure it continues to run well. So far I haven't had any major issues with it, I just want to do whatever I can to ensure I can use it for another year or two before I have to get a replacement.
Thanks, all!

I read the phrase "held the continents in your palm" in a book and it sounds very familiar - I think it might be a reference or allusion to a spiritual work or maybe a poem, another book... Does anyone have suggestions for what it could be or where to look for more info?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoJeep Compass: remove radio antenna before car wash?
This is probably a silly question, but I'm no car buff. Should I remove the radio antenna (I have an 07 Jeep Compass) before I take the car through a car wash? I can't unscrew it with my hand (but I may be a weakling) but I don't want to force it out with pliers or something if it's not supposed to come out, y'know? The antenna on my previous car came unscrewed very easily, which is why I even ask this question in the first place. :) Thank you!!
8 AnswersJeep1 decade agoWhere can I find posters of cities/city skylines?
I'm looking specifically for black & white posters of Boston, Washington DC, Seattle... major US cities as well as European (Amsterdam, Munich, Rome). If anyone knows of a website that could help me out, it'd be much appreciated! Thank you!
1 AnswerPhotography1 decade agoWhere to find info about MBA programs?
I'm looking to start researching MBA programs, but AH! where to start!? Specifically I'm looking for MBA programs that have a concentration/track in marketing or communications of some sort. I'm wondering if anyone's had any luck with online sources and/or books. In addition (but less immediate), if anyone has advice for which GMAT test-prep courses are top notch, that would be helpful as well. THANK YOU!!
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoWhat really matters when purchasing a camcorder?
I'm looking to purchase a hand-held camcorder for my personal use - vacations, parties, etc. I am completely confused by all the options! MiniDV? SD? ABCXYZ? Basically, I just want to shoot some video and transfer said video to my computer (MacBook) to edit/post/add music/whatever. Any advice or guidance is much appreciated! Thanks!!
