  • Is it better to buy purified water or boil tap water?

I was wondering if it would be better to boil tap water instead of buying purified water. Obviously, it would be cheaper to boil it, but the problem is I'm not so sure if it safe to drink boiled tap water. Which is better?

  • If lockdowns curb the spread of the virus by promoting social distancing, then why are cases still rising?

It's been more than a year with this pandemic, and, at this point, it feels like I'm losing so many brain cells just watching the news. If lockdowns curb the spread of the virus, then why are cases still rising? If everyone's forced to stay at home and nobody's out, then the virus can't find any host to infect, especially if you're in a public place. It just doesn't make any sense to me that cases are rising even though everyone's at home, or is it because the news continuously uses scare tactics for the general populace? One thing I hate about Yahoo! Answers sometimes is the trolls, so sensible comments are welcome and, if you make a stupid comment with no logic, I'll just ignore you and socially (and mentally) distance myself from you. I don't need to lose more brain cells.

  • How can I optimize the use of my mobile Internet?

I have a dual SIM card, and my Samsung phone is 4G. I don't know anything about the Internet or computer science, but I just want to know how I can optimize my mobile data usage. SIM 1 has used up around 40 GB of data and is really fast. SIM 2 has used up around 40 MB of data and is really slow. I don't understand why SIM 2 is really slow even though I've obviously used up less data than from SIM 1. At the end of the day, I'm paying for both plans, so how can I optimize my mobile data usage?

  • Why do I need to get vaccinated for COVID-19?

I'm not an anti-vaxxer, and I believe in the science of vaccines. But I have never taken a vaccine in my life, so why should I be vaccinated for COVID-19? I've never taken a flu vaccine. There was also a controversial vaccine called Dengvaxia against dengue fever in which it was administered to Filipino children, and they died after vaccination, although I'm not really sure if it's misinformation by the government authorities at that time. I'm just curious why it is important to take a COVID-19 vaccine if I've never been injected by any other vaccine in my life. If I get vaccinated for COVID-19, should I get vaccinated also for the flu, or any other type of disease?

  • If it's dangerous to eat in restaurants right now, does that mean the same for hair salons and gyms?

So, if COVID-19 spreads in enclosed spaces through aerosolized particles from other people breathing them out, does that mean I should avoid hair salons and gyms for the meantime? Plus the fact that not everyone will wear a mask is what worries me. I guess this is what defines what an essential business is, because restaurants, hair salons and gyms are considered leisure activities, because these days, all I do when I go out is go to the groceries, pharmacies and convenience stores where you just buy and leave the place immediately.

  • When will life get back to normal?

I don't really want to accept this "new normal" era. There's nothing normal about children not being able to go to school, or businesses closing, or distancing yourself from other people and being anti-social. I just want things to go back to the way they were when we didn't have to wear face masks all the time. I'm so sick of this.

  • When will we stop wearing masks?

Now that vaccines are out, why do we still have to wear masks? I know that we have to vaccinate a certain percentage of the population to achieve herd immunity, so why still wear masks? I'm guessing the reason is because of all the anti-vaxxers. I'm not an anti-masker or anything, but I feel that anti-vaxxers are the reason why this pandemic will not end. If we only get to vaccinate a certain amount of people, then we'd achieve herd immunity and, therefore, no need to wear masks or social distance and everything's back to normal. The problem is that there is a segment of the population who believes that this is one big conspiracy (i.e. the anti-vaxxers) and they'll refuse to get vaccinated so society would achieve herd immunity. In all honesty, when are we going to stop wearing these masks?

  • Why is my poop red?

I'm so scared right now because I'm highly certain that it's blood. The problem is that with all the COVID-19 hysteria, I can't even enter the hospital normally for a medical check-up. I've already gotten tested for COVID-19 and tested negative. Yes, I know you can still get infected, so I'm scared that maybe it could be COVID-19 and I got exposed somewhere. I've been drinking loperamide because I know it helps with diarrhea, since this "symptom" of COVID-19 is gastrointestinal. I'm considering doing telemedicine. What would be the best thing I should do?

  • Which is the best: 1GB valid for 1 day, 1GB valid for 30 days, or 10GB valid for 30 days?

I don't care if it's expensive as long as I get the best plan in terms of data usage. I don't know anything about computer science, so which one we be the best I get from my Internet service provider?

  • Is it normal to have a nosebleed after taking a swab test?

I got one after I got swab tested. It went away, but around 4 days later, my nose started to bleed again. I'm afraid of what they're saying that it damages he blood-brain barrier. Is it true? I'm just scared because it might be a form of internal bleeding.

  • Should you wear a mask for virtue signaling?

I tested negative, so I'm not contagious. But do you think it's smart to wear a mask to show to people that you have good moral character?

  • How do you invest in Bitcoin?

I know it's a bit weird that I put this under the "Diseases" category, but it's related to the COVID-19 pandemic and it's economic consequences, which are the lockdowns. So, since social gatherings of any kind are discouraged because of social distancing, many jobs related to social interaction, like hairdressers or personal trainers, would be lost. Since I can't really rely on having steady source of income due to unemployment, I've decided to invest in Bitcoin, but I don't know how. So, how and where do I start?

  • Does social distancing prevent the spread of viruses?

I'm not only talking about the virus that causes COVID-19, but viruses in general. Can social distancing prevent viruses such as HIV? If someone was infected with HIV, then would it be logical to say that social distancing prevents the spread of HIV, as well as other types of viruses? I'm asking this because even before COVID-19 hit, HIV was--and still is--an ongoing pandemic, but we really never had to do some drastic measures like social distancing.

  • When can we stop wearing masks?

And when can we stop social distancing? The problem I have with social distancing is the negative stigma behind it. I still get into some arguments with people because they misunderstand that when I do distancing, they see it as I'm trying to avoid them. That's why I want this all to end. I'm the type of person who wants to spread positive vibes but, in my opinion, social distancing means being antisocial. Maybe a better term would be "physical distancing", don't you think?

  • Do you think people these days complain a lot?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I feel a lot of people, especially the younger generation--which I am a part of--tend to complain a lot. Looking at history, I feel it was much worse back then. People didn't have advanced technology at the time, and there was a war that was raging across the world on top of a pandemic. I just wonder why so many people complain about wearing masks since there are lesser problems right now as opposed to what happened before in 1918.

  • Do I have diarrhea?

So, I've been having wet stools lately. I can't understand why because I've been eating bananas, broccoli, and other types of healthy food. I'm just scared because of all the paranoia surrounding COVID-19 right now. From my understanding, diarrhea is different from having loose bowel movements.

  • Why is everything about COVID-19?

According to Wikipedia, current pandemics include the following: COVID-19 and HIV/AIDS. If this is the case, then why does the news seem to focus so much on COVID-19 and not other types of diseases? I'm not trying to say that COVID-19 isn't serious, but don't you think the media is hyping up COVID-19 a little too much when there are other types of diseases out there, especially those that still don't have a cure or vaccine like HIV/AIDS? Here is the Wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandemic

  • Who should be tested for COVID-19?

In our company, we've tested all of our employees. Most tested negative, although the people who tested positive were required to isolate and quarantine. Yet, on a societal level, is it advisable to test the general populace?
