  • Cashing in CHEQUE URGENT ADVICE?

    hi there

I got paid my monthly wages for May by cheque by my employer

I want to cash in my cheque at a pawn brokers and I want to leave my jobas soon as I do this. basically he owes me lots of money which I'm claiming back through legal procedures, he is unaware.

I have the legal documents the pawn brokers need, for example my pay slip

However, I am worried that if I leave my boss will cancel that cheque. What would happen in this scenario? Legally he owes me that month in pay and I would have shown the pawn brokers my wage slip as proof

Wondering if anyone can shed any advice on this?

  • My boss won't let me take my holiday?

I've booked four days holiday, I'm

On a apprenticeship too, but my boss won't let me take it. I could really really do with a break from work (it is a stressful job and I'm having health problems) it doesn't help that my other employer can take time off whenever the **** he wants!! Without hardly any notice and literally whenever he wants, he doesn't even have to fill in a request form. The reason is that we are under staffed, it is not my problem that two staff have already walked out.

I want to put in another request form, but I'm worried that if I don't get it approved

I will have a break down lol.

  • Stressed because of short staff at work?

We are a small company that are dealing with big clients. In the time I've been there (3 months). 2 people have walked out. My boss could have treated them better in some ways I guess. for the most time I've been there we have been short staffed. My boss has asked me to go in 6 days a week instead of 5. But I am so tired and run down, my boss wouldn't understand this. I am only an apprentice. I get on with my boss well but don't think he would understand the stress levels. What can I do to relieve stress? I hate working 6 days a week, I have things to do and places to be.

  • My boss wants me to wear a tie, I'm a girl?

I am 19 year old girl, I work in recruitment/admin.

I am the only girl who works there, my boss gave us company ties, I did take mine like everyone else. But I have never worn it. Lately he keeps bugging me to wear it and I just brush it off.

Girls worked here prior to me, I doubt any of them had to wear a tie. I'm wondering if it because my boss knows I am a lesbian that he is suggesting this.

Not really sure if I am being too sensitive about it or I'm reading into it? He has made jokes about my sexuality, I do laugh, I am not the type of person to get all uptight about a joke! But he is genuinely serious about the tie. I don't really feel comfortable with wearing one, he says they cost 100 each. Thoughts and opinions please?

  • How to help my indoor cat to hunt?

My indoor cat is just over a year old(she's also quite a small cat) she doesn't really have any interest in going out and we decided we don't really want her too.

When I watch her play and I play with her too, I notice her skills such as jumping, balancing and moving quickly aren't as quick witted as my old cat I had (she loved going outdoors) I mean even sometimes I have to pick her up to help catch a daddy long legs.

What I want to know is how can I help her improve her skills? Do I just carry on playing these hunting games with her? I know she's an indoor cat, but she might decide to dart out the door one day and I don't want her to be completely useless? Is it even possible for me to even help try improve her. Not even sure if this is a silly question. Could I involve feeding her into a hunting game?

  • Should I go to work tomorrow?!?

I was signed off by the doctor for a week on Monday due to a severe eczema flare up on the face and a face infection (on my lips)

It has improved a lot to what it was. I told my boss I got signed off and he wasn't happy. I've still got a lot of slits around my mouth, although it isn't as bad before I am worried I will risk infecting it again by going to work.... But I feel awful about not going and I need the money.

    What should I do?

  • Mums relies on me and sibling financially?

I live in England. I'm 20 and my sibling is 22.

I'm on a apprenticeship which pays 2.73 an hour on full time hours plus a part time job cleaning. My sister is at university studying and her student loan is about 400 a month.

My mum is depending on us for things such as food shopping, gas and electric (which is a killer when it's on a meter) and other basics because her job only covers rent. it is so stressful when some days we are arguing about food.

I never buy myself any clothes, or shoes... And save when I reaaaaallly need some new ones. I don't mind giving my mum money, I never think twice about it. But me and my sibling are so frustrated when we are surrounded by people who are financially stable and have parents to fall back on.

Even trying to make money matters better by learning how to drive has become impossible for me. Money causes a lot of arguments in the household especially between my mum and sibling.

I can deal with being broke all the time, but I am getting older and I don't want to be in the same financial position as my mum when I get older. (She even got a loan out in my name) I know I will have to sit down and talk to my mum about this but I am dreading it. She's not a bad mum.

Is there any ways I could save? Even if it's in within the house hold, I live in a council house.

  • My cat is constantly meowing and purring?

I recently started a new job full time. So I'm not as round as much as I used too. My cat has been constantly meowing at me, being all in my face and purring.

Ive been feeding her, changing her litters and making sure she has water.

She doesn't do this to any other family member but me. I let her purr and meow in my face, I just pet her and she falls asleep on my lap.

However she started to scratch at my bedroom door at night, I caved in and let her come in my room, she slept under the covers with me and has done this for about 5 nights!

Do you think that there's something wrong with her? Maybe she's cold because it's winter? She is only 1 and she is an indoor cat.

  • Anyone else feel guilty for calling in sick?

I've been signed off work for a week by the doctors, due to a bad bacterial infection on my face (my lips were pussing this morning).

I went to work all last week with a face infection and it probably made it worse.

Obviously I called in sick today and told my boss Ive been signed off a week but if I feel better sooner then I will go in. He's not happy and I feel sick for being guilty!!!! Does anyone else get like this?

  • Lip infection! Antibiotics but I'm itchy, nauseous and the rash is spreading?

I recently asked a question this morning about my lip infection, I've been on antibiotics for two days, flucloxacillin, 1 tablets 4 times a day. I've been getting the common side affects, nausea, feeling sick! Although last night I had difficulty breathing whilst at work and my legs were very shakey.

My lip infection come back with a vengeance this morning when I woke up, I've soaked them with water and applied Aqua max cream (suggest by the nurse) my lips aren't itchy, but my whole face is, it's a red hive rash and has spread and continues to spread since I got the antibiotics.

I have 4 days left with the antibiotics, I know I need to go to the doctors again if it hasn't cleared up.

My question is do I go to work? I had Monday off and my boss was so angry at me... I went in Tuesday so he could see for himself the rash on my face and that I was unwell, today is my day off and I hope my lip and face clear up, I want to go in tomorrow but I don't think I can if I wake up and my lips are the same as what they are today, I've had this since Saturday, although it's not long it's a very sensitive part of my face. I've been drinking with a straw, it's painful to eat and I know I won't be able to treat my skin as well as I would at home compared to work. Should I go to the doctors sooner rather than when my antibiotics course ends in 4 days?

I am NOT trying to pull a sicky off work. When I wake up the weepiness of my lips have dried and they are yellowish! With the rash.

  • Lip bacterial infection is not healing, please help!?

I've suffered from chapped lips for about 4-5 years, recently, it has gone too far and turnt into a bacterial infection. On Saturday my lips were weepy and on Sunday they were completely split and I couldn't talk or smile, I have a red rash, sort of like a hive around the lip area and that is spreading.

On Monday my lips were peeling massive amounts of thick dead skin. I went to the doctors that morning and they gave me antibiotics, things cleared up the next day (not entirely) but it was better than it had been the past two days! Today I have woken up back to square one!

The antibiotics are strong and I'm taking 1 tablet 4 times a day! As you can imagine my lips are sore and irritable, I have been drinking with a straw and find it painful to eat!

Am I just being impatient? I just need someone to tell me these antibiotics will help!! I have photos but could not add them
