Having trouble with "monsters" in little sister's bedroom?
This problem has actually gotten worse since my sister saw an episode of Wubbzy talking about monsters. She said she saw monsters on the back of my mom's door, and my brother taped over the "monsters" in my mom's bedroom. It took care of it too, but my mom wants her to sleep in her own bedroom.
Well, we bought her a special blanket (we asked her if she would be willing to sleep in her bed if we got it and she said yes she would) and put it on her bed, but now she says there's monsters under her bed! I took the mattress off the frame and showed her there wasn't but she's still "no, there's a monster under my bed". Anyone have any ideas on how to help us getting her to sleep in her bed??
In case you're wondering:
I thought of blocking off under her bed with a pillow or something she can't see through, but my mom doesn't think it'll work.
9 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoDo you feel it is wrong for your child to say "butt" or to say it near them?
Ok, my mom and I are all split on this particular subject due to my little sister (2) and my son (1) being in the house. I feel butt is not a bad word, its just what it is. My mom says its a bad word, that it's proper to be saying bottom. Who do you think is right?
19 AnswersParenting1 decade agoHave you ever felt really lonely despite being in a house full of people?
I live in a house with 4 other people and in all honesty I feel really alone. I don't feel comfortable talking to my mom and brother (they like to team up against me sometimes, and is to the point I just feel like no matter what I say to them they're going to trash talk about me to my face and behind my back).
Most would tell me to call my friends, but unfortunately I have none. I have only one person I talk to on here, but he's a guy and sometimes there are things I'm not comfortable talking to him about.
Any advice other then go make a friend?
1 AnswerFriends1 decade agoDrama queen for a sister?
Let me start by explaining my sister is 2 and I watch her pretty much all day long (I'm out for the summer from college, and my hours are crap for work). But while I was in school I would have her till noon, and she would still do this. Every morning she wakes up " I want chocolate milk, I no feel good" and repeats it every minute until milk is delivered. If she doesn't get what she wants for breakfast she'll either throw it or shove it then start screaming bloody murder.
She usually shares really well and behaves well, but there are times she pitches tantrums about sharing or if my son (1) has a toy she wants. At times she'll go over, kick him or push him out of the way and take it herself. She goes into time out then, but then will tantrum in time out, then refuse to get up and when she does she starts crying "I want mommy" then tantrum more.
She doesn't sleep in her own bed, she doesn't go to bed till 9 or 10, and on top of that she sleeps with our mom. I (21) had her sleeping in her own bed then she got sick one day and since then (she's been better, it was in March) she's been sleeping with our mom. She tantrums and screams if she has to go in her own bed, to the point one of two things happen. My mom goes to get her, or she comes to us (my brother (23) and I) where ever we are in the house. So then she ends up in my brother's room (unfortunately when she ends up with us she'll stay awake till 12) till she falls asleep and then he'll haul her to her bed, wrapped up in his bedding.
I know it's probably just the terrible twos but it's getting on everyone's nerves.
2 AnswersFamily1 decade agoMy son won't listen unless you yell at him?
I have a one year old son and to get him to stop doing what he has no business doing I have to yell at him. He's not deaf, he'll look right at you if you just say "you don't do that" or just "stop". Then he'll try to do it even faster if you just say it. I don't like yelling, but it' the only thing to stop him (and some of it he really has no business doing, like playing in the dog food or trying to get to our cat's litter box (they're already moved out of reach but he's figuring out how to get around the blocks and will soon)). Any ideas of anything else I could do to make him listen? I know one year olds are just that way but I don't want him to get hurt.

The girl help him get over his multiple personality syndrome (and he help her feel better about how her voice box got destroyed in the same way he developed the multiple personality syndrome) or another way?
3 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoDo people with multiple personalities recognize ppl they know?
Ok this is more a multiple part question, I've never met anyone with multiple personalities, but I am doing a paper dealing with them and finding many different answers. So here are my questions...
1. Can someone have another personality that is actually their younger self, back from when an incident happened that created another personality?
2. Can they overcome the other person and return to normal, or is it a permanent thing?
3. Can the main person (the original personality) somehow know that there is another personality, and know when it is about to emerge?
Thank you!!
2 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoI'm scared my ex will take my son, help!?
My ex and I have been apart since Sept. of 2007 and I had my son in April of last year. We hadn't spoken, but I wrote him a letter telling him I'd like him to be a part of our son's life, because I felt bad for him missing most of his first year.
My mom is now saying I should (she doesn't know I wrote him already) consult a lawyer first, that his family will try to take him from me. Tha they will make up things and mention I moved in w/ them for awhile to get him too. Now I'm scared to the point I want to cry that he'll take my son and I'll never see him again. I haven't ever done anything bad to my son and I want him safe. But I'm terrified he'll get taken from me. Did I make a mistake sending the letter?
6 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoHow can I tell my ex about our baby?
I have a near one year old baby, and my ex knew I was pregnant when we split up. We live in different areas and due to reasons I'd rather not go into at the moment we agreed to just not talk to one another. Well, like I said the baby's almost one and his daddy knows nothing about him, even that he is a boy. I feel really bad and want him to be involved in his life. But I am scared he may try to take him from me and part of me sort of wants to get back together with him. I really have no idea what to do...can anyone give me an answer?
