3 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoIs this a good recipe for making Kitty Litter Cake?
Ingredients
1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (12 ounce) package vanilla sandwich cookies
3 drops green food coloring
1 (12 ounce) package tootsie rolls
Directions
1 Prepare cake mixes and bake according to package directions (any size pan).
2 Prepare pudding according to package directions and chill until ready to assemble.
3 Crumble sandwich cookies in small batches in a food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup add a few drops of green food coloring and mix.
4 When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with 1/2 of the remaining cookie crumbs, and the chilled pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding, you want the cake to be just moist, not soggy.
5 Line kitty litter box with the kitty litter liner. Put cake mixture into box.
6 Put half of the unwrapped tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until softened. Shape the ends so that they are no longer blunt, and curve the tootsie rolls slightly. Bury tootsie rolls randomly in the cake and sprinkle with half of the remaining cookie crumbs. Sprinkle a small amount of the green colored cookie crumbs lightly over the top.
7 Heat 3 or 4 of the tootsie rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle lightly with some of the green cookie crumbs. Heat the remaining tootsie rolls until pliable and shape as before. Spread all but one randomly over top of cake mixture. Sprinkle with any remaining cookie crumbs. Hang the remaining tootsie roll over side of litter box and sprinkle with a few green cookie crumbs. Serve with the pooper scooper for a gross Halloween dessert.

12 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agoWas Hank Williams a poet and why do all my poems sound like his songs?
Where is the meaning at the end of your life
you been through the pain the pleasure and sorrow
The last stab in the heart was done with a knife
The only hope left is the hope of tomorrow
I saw it all coming I knew all the signs
chose to ignore them kept pulling the plow
people have said its a sign of the times
Where that led me is where I am now
If I could go back and know what I know now
It would turn out different and that Im certain
Id be standing on stage taking my bow
my life wouldnt look like the final curtain
So if you can hear me be careful to chose
your wife with wisdom and care
By learning lifes lessons you dont have to lose.
and you wont being wearing my haunted stare
5 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoBiassed Poet?
What Im wondering is if the art of poetry has too much license
in the free verse genre? Yes all things evolve in time but poetry today seems to be stuck in the notion that anyone with an idea can write it down and call it poetry. Shouldnt poetry be about more than just stream of conscious and actually incorporate meter, tempo, rythme and style? Isnt that the art of poetry?
The thought and work of finding the best words to espress a complex thought with elegance and symetry?

1 AnswerWords & Wordplay1 decade ago2 more to judge?
Here are two I wrote this morning over coffee. I dont have a lot of knowledge of poetry. I just write what I feel.
Someday
Someday you will know the truth about you
Someday you will know what you put me through
Someday maybe soon you will feint a swoon
Someday you will wail at the moon.
You Deserve each other
You are the moth flapping against his flame
He doesnt love you
You merely amuse him and worship his name
The ones who love you
You regard with the same
intolerant impatience until we are few
You believe your mind is oh so tame
You believe it feels innocent as dew
Everything you think is just more of the same
How can I know if its you that I knew?
1 AnswerPoetry1 decade agoCritic my Poem?
Its said the best writing is often inspired by tragic, sorrowful or venemous events. This is my first attempt at poetry. I know it is amateur and does not subscribe the modern rage of free verse. It is inspired by the almost concurrent lose of the most prescious creature I have known, a cat named Jamilla Sinjab and my wife of 29 years deciding the best relationship we can have is to be no more than friends.

Please give your honest thoughts on how to improve this poem.
Amor Jamilla
You must be thinking
how tricky and clever of him
To write you this poem
as if he were me, Jem
I tell you this now
dont think what it seems
I speak with him daily
quite often in dreams
I know you love poetry
and music and laughter
Returning this to you
is what I am after
I rest by your side
you rub my furred brow
The memory of this
I recall fondly now
I speak to you softly
from a long way afar
You keep unsafe feeling
locked tight in a jar
Surely you learned
from our time together
To cherish each moment
among flowers and heather
To learn from the past
not fear the future
The present is sewn
tightly with suture
One door you closed on him
the other open for me
This leads to demise
of both he and thee
I find no fault of you
my love is to forgive
we both spent our time
learning to love and to live
You took the man
to have and to hold
Then one named Barak
captured your soul
Losing dear Molly
caused him to regret
To find her replacement
he soon was set
You found me through paws
Im certain of that
Instantly he knew me
"what an african cat"
Its puzzling to me
and so it seem
not seeing beyond wants
and into the dream
6 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoThe Naming of Cats?
In an effort to help people with new cats in their care concerning what to name their companion I submit this
by TS Eliot;
The Naming of Cats
The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, or George or Bill Bailey -
All of them sensible everyday names.
There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter -
But all of them sensible everyday names.
But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?
Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum -
Names that never belong to more than one cat.
But above and beyond there's still one name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover -
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.
When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular Name.

1 AnswerCats1 decade agoDeath of our cat?
Jamilla Sinjab(Beautiful Squirrel) died yesterday after being hit by a car.
She was saved in 2006 being found wandering the streets of Dhahran Saudi Arabia. PAWS, People's Animal Welfare Society found her, neutered her and allowed us to adopt her. She settled in well with our other cat Sufi and dog Barak and enjoyed coming to America with us.
She had the most unique personality of any cat I have ever known. She was very adventurous and playful and loved people. My wife called me last week while I was out of town and said Jamilla had gotten out of the house during a party she was hosting.
I know had I come home immediately and started looking for her I would have found her. I came home after 2 days and gave a half-hearted attempt to find her by walking through the woods and calling her. My wife found her hit by a car over 2 miles from home. We buried her at our home 05/03/08 with great guilt and saddness. Jamilla please forgive my neglect. How can I forgive myself?
18 AnswersCats1 decade agoWhy is it that boat marketers always show beautiful women in bikinis on their boats?
Why dont they show who you are likely to run across after you buy their boat and hit the water? Ive been looking all over the place for those deserted beaches with nubile women frolicking
in the sun dappled water and dolphins cavorting around them.
