  • Rumor - Eagles are one of Peppers "four teams" - will it happen?

    http://www.heraldonline.com/665?plckController=Blo...

Lito and a 1st rounder might be a bit of a stretch, but Panthers could use a 1st rounder this year.

I'd like to see the Eagles get a WR then maybe take a run at Peppers, but Eagles D would be insanity of Peppers joined. Jim Johnson would friggin love a guy like him. Eagles already have Cole playing RE, who is a pretty solid player.

Do you think it's just another tease for us Eagles fans, kinda like how Fitz said last January that the Eagles were one of four teams he would play for?

  • Bucc's telling Garcia to to take a hike?

Looks like the Bucc's are really done now.

Garcia has been the only good QB down there in how many years? Not that Garcia isn't used to it by now I guess, but he had a good year, I guess they are going to rebuild.

Kiffin, Gruden, Garcia, Bryant, Brookes may retire....looks like we are back to 70's era Bucc's lol.

  • Now that the season is over - was Favre a victim of the "Madden Curse"?

The Jets did flounder at the the end of the season, and largely because of Favre too. He threw alot of picks this year, and was not one his better seasons stats wise.

Or was his curse the whole Green Bay saga with Ted Thomson?

Or did Madden put some pixie dust on the game, and say "I'll never let anything happen to you Brett, I love you and want to have your babies".

Or did he avoid the curse all together (remember curse does exclusively mean injury for Madden).

  • Now that Favre is "retired", how many times will Kornheiser and Madden mention him during SNF/MNF this year?

I say Kornheiser mentions him 10 out of 16 games, and Madden mentions him 6 out of 17 games.

  • How long until Favre pulls a Michael Jordan?

And buys into a team and starts playing for it?

You know it's gonna happen, I say Favre won't be able to go a year without having his QB ego stroked.

  • 2010 season - gonna change the NFL forever?

I still don't believe the 2010 season is gonna have no salary cap. I think this is the worst idea ever.

Lol the Lions, 49ers, Cards and several others can kiss any hopes of a title goodbye after 2010.

Who will become the Yankee's of the NFL, just loading up and spend spend spend on every decent player in sight? Sadly, I see crazy ol Jerry Jones as alot like Steinbrenner, and I could see Jerry going straight for the throat of the NFL roster once the uncapped year rolls around.

Think of FA, you could go in and scoop everyone up if you wanted to.

    Stupidest Idea ever.

  • Did anyone else hear that Matt Cassel was peed on?

    http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2009/02/02/2009-...

"New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel doesn’t like golden showers.

The football star was in line for the bathroom at ESPN’s Tampa Bay Super Bowl bash Friday night when a drunken reveler tried to cut in front of him. “Matt told him to wait his turn and headed into the urinals,” a spy tells us. Moments later, the fella barged in and proceeded to purposefully pee directly on Cassel’s leg. After security tossed the drunk, Cassel headed back out into the crowd, wet pants and all."

    That is hilarious.

Nobody would dare piss on Brady.

  • Spagnuolo planning on rebuilding the Rams, rumor is Torry Holt isn't part of the plan, where will he end up?

Also Drew Bennett seems to be on the way out as well.

Like I've said, would love to see Holt dealt to the Eagles, but the Eagles will grab Houshmanzadeh before they grab Holt I would imagine.

Where could Holt end up? Rumor is Bennett would like to go back to Tennessee, could Holt be dealt there too?

  • Ray Lewis won't take a paycut just to stay in Baltimore - is he done?

"I don't play less," Lewis told the NFL Network in Hawaii, where he will play in the Pro Bowl. "If you don't play less, you don't take less. That's just life."

Lewis said he'd be interested in Dallas and the Jets as well. Will the Ravens pony up the money for there longtime defensive leader, or decide to go a new route with Rex Ryan and Lewis leaving and resigning Suggs?

I'd say keep Suggs, he's much younger. There comes a time...

  • If Boldin and Warner leave, will Fitzgerald be smart enough to try and get out too?

He's slated to make $17 mil this season. And from the Card's history, Ol Billy Boy is a tightwad, he likes to save all his money for those pretty bowties.

Will Fitz demand a trade? Where could he end up?

    Here? - http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Fitzgerald...

    That's a 25% chance, I like those odds :D

  • Could it happen - TJ Whosyomomma to the Eagles?

Two days ago - "T.J. Houshmandzadeh, a top wide receiver on the free agent market after eight seasons with the Bengals, today told ESPN radio in Philadelphia that if the Eagles "are interested in me, I'll be interested in them."

I'd rather see the Eagles try for Torry Holt, but Whosyomomma will be welcomed with open arms :D

  • Arizona is going to sh*t now?

They're OC is going to be the Chiefs HC, they fired their DC, and Boldin certainly does not seem to want to be a Card anymore ( Boldin to USA today - “I don’t think the relationship can be repaired with the organization. It takes more than, ‘Well, we did you wrong and we’ll pay you this.’ It’s not about the money. It was always about the principle. Guys being true to their word. I guess I was expected to uphold my end of the bargain, and it wasn’t reciprocated.”), plus the Warner situation.

Are the Cards heading back to the NFC cellar after only one good season?

  • The Steelers are responsible for the War in Iraq, and the bad economy - agree?

I believe they also have something to with 3rd world poverty, it's just the UN always sides with the Steelers.

  • Do you think we'll see Silva vs. GSP within the next year?

They could meet at a catch weight. I wasn't completely sold on GSP until his utter dominance over BJ last weekend. I always thought he was a good fighter, but UFC 94 put it over the top for me.

I think it would be a great fight of two very exciting fighters, and there is some rumour that it may happen at UFC 100 as they are trying to put together a really huge card for that event.

Do you think we'll see it?

  • Based on strength of schedule, are the 2008 Steelers on the "the best of all time" list?

They came within a hair of being the only team to rank #1 in all defensive categories, had the defensive player of the year, Polamalu making all the INT's, all of Ben's 4th quarter game winners.

But most of all - the toughest schedule is recent history. They played the NFC East, with every team above .500, the "big three" of the AFC - Chargers, Pats and Indy, the Titans, 3 knock down drag out's with the Ravens, and still came out 12-4.

I watched most of these games as they broadcast the Steelers games in my area. Most of them were hard fought victories.

Obviously the Steelers aren't my favourite team, but you can't overlook there season this year. I would rank them as one of the all-time teams.

    What do you think?

  • Santonio Holmes excessive celebration - no flag?

I just watched PTI and they brought up a good point, on the Santonio Holmes game winning TD, there was no flag for excessive celebration despite the fact that he clearly used to ball as a prop.

When you think about it all, 2 timeouts with 35 seconds and Warner and Fitzgerald, PLUS and extra 15 yards....could have made a diff.....

What do you think - Steeler bias or too much going on and it got lost in the mix?

  • Who should the Eagles try to get as a WR in the offseason?

The Eagles have two main problems as it relates to player personnel - they need a good powerback, and a good "star" receiver. They also need to think about replacing Runyan and Thomas soon as well if they even resign either of them this year.

But the WR issue is one that has stuttered the Eagles. Had TO for one season and went to the SB.

TJ Whosyomomma is the biggest name in terms of known FA's at this point. He would be a good addition, however the Eagles also have two first round draft picks to work with as well if they wanted to trade for a player.

I'll also be realistic about things, there is no way they are getting Moss, Fitzgerald, Andre or Calvin Johnson etc.

I'd really like to see them make a move for Torry Holt, sure he's getting older at 32, but the guy can still play, and its feasible to get him through a trade. Boldin is another possibility as well.

I say keep Jackson, Curtis and Avante and get rid of Brown, Basket and Lewis and add a good possession type receiver that can get it done.

Too much blame gets thrown on Donovan, if people actually watch the games they'd realize most of it is dropped passes.

Who do you think the Eagles should try and get?

  • Can't we just say great game?

I really enjoyed watching the game this year, as most Super Bowls are pretty vanilla in terms of a quality game.

I knew that if the Steelers won everyone would cry foul, but the Cards played a good game, they just commited too many penalties. Aside from the roughing the passer penalty against Dansby, they were all pretty legit calls.

Heck, even Ben's TD that got called back was closer to being a TD than his 2005 SB rushing TD that wasn't called back lol.

I think we got what you would pretty much expect on paper and then a bit more. Fitzgerald being doubled, then scoring when his team needs it, Harrison the D player of the year pick 6, Warner racking up yardage, and Ben not putting up great numbers but getting it done when it counts.

I think the last call should have been reviewed, but Tomlin got the offense out there quickly before they decided to give it an official review. Thats smart coaching folks.

Personally I liked both teams, I thought the Steelers were deserving cuz of there awesome D and there incredibly tough schedule of playing the who's who of the NFL. The Cards for rolling over the Falcons, Panthers and my Eagles when no one gave them a chance in any of those games.

I thought Goodell was right when he said this years SB may very well top last years, after all, pretty much nothing happened last year until mid way through the 4th other than Brady getting sacked and really pissed off lol. This years game was good from start to finish IMO.
