  • Does anyone here honestly remember why Affirmative Action was created?

Seriously, if you can recall why the policy was created, then you should, in fact, understand why it still stands, in theory. While I have mixed feelings about it's current need with respect to people of color, I'm not so sure it should be done away with. Currently, whites are quickly racing toward becoming a minority in this country and may need the protection of the policy themselves in the coming decades.

  • Why didn't Scooter Libby get pardoned?

Outing Valerie was clearly an orchestrated event. Who the conductor was is subject for discussion but it seems like it served it's purpose.

  • Do you republicans share Kay Baily Hutchinson belief about infrastructure spending?

Kay believes that during the Bush Administration the Military and Defense spending and infrastructure spending we did in Iraq counts as current economic stimulus spending for our country's benefit.

  • Should we keep Affirmative Action around just in case?

Researchers say that in the next 20-50 years that the white race as we know it today will disappear. Some also say that whites will be a minority in the U.S. within the next 20 years or there about. Hispanics and Blacks and a mixture of the three major U.S. ethnicities will take over as a majority. Should we keep AA around just in case caucasians need the policy to help ensure equal opportunity? Wouldn't that be fair, after all?

  • What should the U.S. policy be on torture?

Should it matter, as the current administration believes, whether or not the uniformed soldier or an enemy combatant? A uniformed soldier would be from a country that has signed the Geneva Convention and an enemy combatant would be a terrorist without any affiliation to any sovereign nation. Your thoughts?

  • For those of you who are uncomfortable with Obama, does his team of rivals provide any comfort?

Specifically, Obama has made it a point to bring people who's ideas are different from his own ideas. Even McCain may have an unofficial role of an advisor in the next administration. Hillary and Obama certainly don't agree on foreign policy strategies and Biden openly admitted he and Obama don't see eye to eye on everything. Does having varying points of view available to Obama make him a more likable Presdient?

  • Shouldn't we be reluctant to help the auto industry despite it's far reaching fingers?

GM in particular, has had ample opportunity to push newer technologies to stay ahead of the curve with electric cars and even hybrids. At every turn, they did the wrong thing. I'm very disappointed in this company and I feel that supporting their bone headed business model is just wrong.

  • Did you see Jesse Jackson's emotional response to the calling of the election? ?

I wondered what was going through his mind. Was he sad that it wasn't him? Was he feeling the success of all the marches he did with Dr. Martin Luther King and others finally paying off? Did he think that this country is finally moving past discrimination? I know he's a polarizing character, but he has done much throughout his career for people even though he has made some boneheaded moves and comments. Your thoughts?

  • whatIn the wake of this election, will Washington finally reform Campaign Financing?

It is believed that Obama created a perfect storm in terms of his fundraising but I've also heard some Washington Insiders say that the Republicans could never mount this kind of campaign fundraising at the small donation level that the Democrats have been able to create since they mostly rely on large donations. Making any changes ties the hands of the Democrats more than Republicans, doesn't it?

  • What have been McCain's biggest mistakes in this campaign?

Are there any intelligent conservatives out there willing to discuss what McCain has done wrong, what he's done right with his campaign? A political junkie wants to know. Please, no hate, just serious discussion about the campaign.
