  • Does Yahoo know the new YMail is garbage ?

@Yahoo - Nobody wants you scanning their email.

Also the new YMail NEVER loads Ymessenger, and there is no way of getting it to stop trying, so it keep trying to load and load and load and well you get it ... garbage.

  • Can Y. reminders be added directly to Y. Calendars ?

Can reminders from Yahoo Finance be added directly into Yahoo Calendar just by clicking on "Reminder" or do I still have to add it manually ?

When I clicked on "Reminder" (for an earnings date) it just opened up my Calendar in a tab which doesn't help at all.

Also, I'd like it if it was automatically updated cause many times earnings dates change in Yahoo Finance, and it's hard to keep track when watching so many stocks.

If anyone from Yahoo is listening - it'd be really great if I could add all earnings dates to the calendar just by picking the portfolio (like it was another Yahoo user.)

  • Ooma + DSL w/ (no POTS)?

What DSL providers will allow me to use an Ooma and not require a regular landline ?

I use ATT now and I know I can get DSL only from them, but I want to dump ATT ~

I checked sonic.net and dslextreme and it looks like they both require a POTS landline.

I live in San Francisco and we don't use regular house phone very often ... seems ridiculous to pay for it. We each have a cell, so we're considering dumping the Ooma idea, but we'd still need DSL without a POTS landline.

Cable for just internet is too expensive and we don't need that fast of speed. (We have DirectTV.)

    Thanks ~

  • Can you wash peanuts to make them less salty?

I'd prefer to avoid obvious decision of buying no-salt peanuts and mixing them cause I don't need 5LBs of peanuts.

(I just tried the new package of Peanuts from a major retailer and they are much saltier then they used to be.)

My wife suggested rubbing them with paper towels but I was wondering if it was possible to wash them without screwing them up badly ...

I am not a big salt person and usually order fries with no salt, so I don't care if the peanuts come out almost salt-free.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

  • biggest mall in san jose or sf bay area?

Anyone know the biggest malls in San Jose, CA or in the SF Bay Area ?

I've been to Eastridge in SJ and The Great Mall in Milpitas. Oh and I'm not looking for an outdoor outlet mall like in Gilroy.

  • Where can I find 10 years of financial data on stocks?

Yahoo and Google finance only show 3 years.

S&P reports are 5 years (at Ameritrade)

Morningstar has 5 years... used to be 10 but that isn't free anymore.

  • What kinds of cheeses are similar to Sauvagine ?

I tried this cheese at Lapin Saute in Quebec and it was absolutely amazing ... it was like eating butter!!!

I tried doing a bit of searching on the net but couldn't find anything that talked about comparisons of cheeses. I am so not a cheese aficionado and liking cheese that much really caught me by surprise ... I want more....

  • my brake fluid gets low but no leak?

I have a 2003 Acura RSX with 93k miles. I got new pads front and back and brake flush at 55k miles. I get my oil changed regularly about every 4000 miles at Jiffy Lube and starting at 75k miles Jiffy Lube has told me that my brake fluid was a little low (about 1 inch from the "Max line"). I'd fill it up myself and take it in for the next oil change and it's low again and again.

I figured there was just a minor leak since it wasn't getting too low - my dummy light has never came on. I never saw any fluid on the ground in our parking spot and Jiffy Lube never saw any leaks - I always ask them to check the under carriage.

So yesterday I figured it might be time to get new pads again and I took the car back to the brake place where I got the work done at 55k miles. I had the guy check for the cause of the leak and he said he couldn't find anything with the bleeder valves or the pads or any problems with the lines and no leaks at the master cylinder. His best guess was that there might be a small leak in the master cylinder but he couldn't find it and with brake fluid being so corrosive I'd guess that it would show up somewhere ... He also theorized that it could just be normal brake fluid loss ... and he said the pads were only down to 25-30%, so I didn't get any work done.

So Answers Community what do ya think ? Should I take it in to another shop to see if they can find a leak or should I just wait til I need new pads again in another ~15-20k miles and see if the problem fixes itself ?

  • Q about tax loss carryover from previous year?

    In 2008 I had a 30k loss and was wrote off 3k and in 2009 I had a 15k gain -

I think I can write off my entire 2009 gain against my 2008 loss and still have 12k leftover for 2010, but I'm not totally sure and would appreciate confirmation or any other suggestions/advice.

    Thanks.

  • I need advice on buying battery charger and rechargeable batteries?

I need a battery recharger along with rechargeable batteries cause our Wii remotes are chomping on normal batteries like a Pacman, and I just want to make sure I understand everything correctly.

(I do not want to use a Wii docking station.)

It is important that we get a charger unit that has a separate station cause we dont have room for any oversized sockets.

As I understand it we should get at least a 2 hour rated recharger cause faster ones overheat the batteries which shortens the battery life.

Is it better to get lower (2500) mAH or higher (2800) mAH ?

Do the longer overnight ones use more electricity or should I just look for one rated around 2 hours ?

I dont mind spending money on more expensive charger/batteries if it means the battery life and electricity cost is better in the long run.

Oh and just out of curiosity does anyone know how much it costs to charge 4 batteries versus buying 4 normal alkalines ?

    Thanks -

  • Can I get multiple tab bars on Google Chrome ?

I'd like to know if there is a way to have more then one row of tabs using Google Chrome using an extension or changing a setting ?

(With Firefox I normally have 3 rows of tabs open, but can't figure out how to create another row of tabs using Chrome. For some reason having all the tabs scrunched up bothers me ...)

    Thx -

  • How can I print something in really really small print?

I want to print up something really small for a real life game of "Clue" and want to print so small that it can only be read under a microscope.

I'd like to keep the paper area size very small so that it will roll up and fit inside one of those "plastic" capsules used for aspirin or other OTC drugs.

Also any recommendations for a Free Proxy Server ? Thanks.

  • Anyone else disappointed w Eli Stone ?

I took it off the season pass list last night ...

It was turning into too much Ally McBeal-like of a show with the 100% predictable worst possible moment of him having a vision.

Shame cause I really wanted to like this show :(
