  • Will any wireless router work with tablets?

I've had internet for years, but it is all wired. Now I have a "Kindle Fire" tablet and I cannot use it to get online because it is asking for wireless internet. I see no where to plug an ethernet to it, so I think that option is out. So if I buy a wireless router to work with my modem, will it give me internet access for my tablet? Will any wireless router do this or does it have to be a certain brand that will work with my current modem? My cable modem is called the "Surfboard 5101".

  • Where is the ECT sensor located?

I have a 2001 Hyundai Sonata GLS; it's a 2.5L 6 cyliner DOHC engine. I cannot seem to find the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. I'm getting code P0118 and all the forums are all saying to change out the sensor. The problem is that I cannot find it. Can anyone give me a detailed description of where to locate it? Even better, are there any pictures of this on the web where I can see where it is?

  • Why do children consider pirates role models?

I see it on kids television shows all the time, yet a pirate is nothing more than a thief out at sea who steals money, jewels, and anything else of value. A pirate will also kill people if they don't get cooperation and also to avoid prosecution. Some have been in trouble with the police and many are constantly drunk. So why are they liked by so many kids? Why do kid shows encourage the scanarios of pirates when they are so dangerous to sailors?

  • Do you think this law should be changed?

I live in California, so I'm not sure what it is in other states. But say someone under 21 but at least 18 is driving and hit with a DUI because thier BAC was over 0.01 but not over 0.08; do you agree with this? If someone 21 or over is under 0.08 BAC, then they are fine and are let go. But why is it that this does not apply to someone under 21 and at least 18? Yes, they are not suppose to be drinking because the law says you have to be 21. But in my opinion, they should not be charged with a DUI. I think someone should take a stand and have the law changed to "underage drinking" as long as they are under 0.08 BAC. What do you think??

  • Will it be possible to live on Saturn's moon....Titan?

I realize it is very cold there now and much of everything is frozen. But billions of years from now when the sun becomes a red giant, do you think Titan will be close enough and warm enough to sustain life?

  • Why is my car constantly getting a check engine light?

Let me start off by saying that this car starting having problems in May. Back then, I got a code P0171 (system too lean - bank 1) and found it to be the fuel/air ratio sensor. The PCV and MAF sensor were also changed, but I feel they were unnecessary. Anyway, about 30 days later, the check engine light comes again. This time I get misfire codes and it was found to be a leaking fuel injector. That cleared the check engine light for about 120 miles of driving. But once I went high speed on the freeway, the check engine light came back. It showed random misfire codes. Spark plugs and wires were changed out. But spark plugs in cylinder 2, 4, and 6 had carbon on them. The spark plugs on 1, 3, and 5 look great. It's too soon to tell if these new spark plugs will get carbon on them again. But for now, I am now getting only code P0171. My mechanic says it is the O2 sensor since the fuel/air ratio sensor has already been changed. I don't know if I will get misfires again. I don't want to drive it at high speed on the freeway just yet. This car is a 1998 Toyota Camry XLE with a V6 engine. Any suggestions?

  • What will happen if the United States takes no action the national debt?

If the US Government continues to keep spending more money and making the debt go higher and higher, what would be the worst possible case for this. Rumors around my job are stating that China will one day own the United States years from now because there is a kid's show teaching preschoolers how to speak Chinese. What do you think will happen?

  • What is bad - my motherboard or CPU?

I bought a used computer at a yard sale for parts. I decided to try it out and found out that after powering it up, the CPU fan turned on. Nothing else worked. I had no LED power light and no display on the monitor. The RAM was tested on other computers as being good. My guess is the CPU, but I'd hate to buy a CPU only to find out it was actually the motherboard. The CPU is an AMD Phenom X3; model number is "HD8400WCJ3BGD". Is this CPU even compatible with this motherboard?? What do you think?? Be as specific and detailed as possible. Here is a pic of what the motherboard looks like:

  • Help! End Table is Broken?

I have an end table that has a removable marble top that is around 1/2 thick. At least, I think it's marble, maybe concrete or something, but the surface is smooth. Anyway, a child picked it up and now it is broken in 4 big piece. The pieces do fit back together and I believe it is fixable, and if so, can anyone tell me the best adhesive or glue to use?

  • Do you think she would be my friend?

I had an affair with a married woman; and yes, I know it was wrong. Anyway, this woman remarried almost 5 years later, and she did not divorce her first husband because of me. This was a failing marriage because he was a mamas boy who did what mama wanted and the wife had no voice in any matter. Well, I found her on a social network under her new husband's last name, and she has been married with her new husband for 6 years. Do you think she would be friends with me if I contacted her, or would she get scared and freak out? We had no problems, but the distance kept us apart.

  • My transmission does not shift gears?

Has anyone ever heard of this and what it could be and is this a quick fix or an expensive one? My car has been having problems in the past. I would start it, but after putting it in drive, it would be stuck in say 1st or 2nd gear and wouldn't shift higher because it was cold. I started warming it up for 2 to 3 minutes before putting it in drive and it was fine afterwards. The transmission fluid is dirty, but when I told my mechanic about this problem he suggested that changing the transmission fluid would make it worse because air would get in and it would do all kinds of weird things because he believed the transmission was bad. Now today, the car started fine, but the transmission doesn't shift. The gear shift will move and the lights come on showing that it is moving to P R N D and so forth, but every gear except for park is like being in neutral. For instance, you need to put the car in neutral to push it. This car can be put into reverse, neutral, drive, drive 2nd, drive low and it can be pushed just like neutral. The only difference is park. When placed in park, it is in park. The car does not move. I feel like this is going to be an expensive transmission problem, but any mechanics out there know what this could be? This is a 1989 Toyota Cressida. There was only one model make which is the 6 cylinder. The transmission is automatic. What could possibly be the problem? Also, if it is expensive to repair, does anyone know of a quick fix that can get it working temporarily for at least a little while longer?

  • Could our sun become a white dwarf sooner than we believe?

I've heard all the statements of our sun being 4.54 billion years old and we have another 5 to 6 billion years before it burns off all it's hydrogen. But how do we know for sure that our sun is actually 4.54 billion years old? Could it be much older and could the helium flash be ready to occur at any time?

  • Main sequence star to red giant?

Please tell me how long it takes for a typical star that has no more hydrogen to become a red giant. I am particulary interested in the time it take to go from the end of main sequence star where all the hydrogen is fused, to becoming a red giant. Please give as many details as possilbe.

  • How does a star exist in space?

Why is it that our sun, or any star (except white/brown dwarfs), can shine in space. I know that a fire cannot exist without oxygen. Since oxygen is rare in space, and a star is a hot ball of fire and gas, how can a star exist in space without it?

  • What will the bank do if I cannot get home insurance?

The home morgage was approved and so was the insurace policy. Now the insurance company wants to cancel my policy because they feel the roof needs to be replaced because I made a claim after having water leaks after a hard rain. I don't have the money to replace my roof. Payments are still going into escrow because I have PITI (Principal, Interest, Taxes, and Insurance) included in my monthly payments. What should I do? The bank is going to want me to have insurance, but my insurance company it claiming no one will insure me unless I replace my roof.
