What underwear would they wear in Westeros?
The costume design in the TV adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire is phenomenal, with outfits inspired by many different periods of history and world cultures. I haven't managed to get through all the books yet, and I don't remember this being described in what I've read so far, so I was curious:
What would the ladies of Westeros be likely to wear under their dresses?
If you've seen something in the show and can remember the episode or the vague scene, please let me know! Otherwise, you might have been looking at the costumes and thinking, "Well, there seems to be a lot from blah era, and the underwear worn at that time was blah." Or just take a rough guess!
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories7 years agoCan excel compare one cell to a list?
I'm using conditional formatting on a drop down list. Because I've already named the whole list on another sheet in order to put the values into the drop-down I was hoping that I could just use the name of the list (eg. =([cell #]<>[name of list]) then change the colour of the cell to red). But I'm guessing the reason that didn't work is because Excel now thinks that the cell should contain the WHOLE list, not just any value from it.
Is there a faster way than just doing a separate argument for each list item? If it was a range of numbers it would be easy but the values are text so I can't do it that way.
1 AnswerSoftware8 years agoOld blood on panties this morning - Was it the sex or the pill?
I've been taking the oral contraceptive pill to control my endometriosis for about 6 months now. In the first few months I skipped one pill and that was enough to start off my period (which is a problem because I'm supposed to skip the sugar pills in each packet so that I don't have one). Taking two the next day wasn't enough to fix it and in the end I gave in and took the sugar pill to reset my system.
A few weeks ago I missed a pill, took both the next morning, and was fine. A few days ago, I missed another pill and didn't realise until the next night. I took both pills, didn't notice any bleeding. Didn't notice any blood for the next few days of taking the pill either, until this morning I found some old blood on my panties, which is what happened last time I was spotting. Even though it was a few days ago that I missed the pill, I suspected it was probably missing the pill... until I thought about last night.
(Sorry to squeamish people.)
Last night my boyfriend and I used a toy that was about the size of a normal penis for once (instead of my usual one which is the size of a finger). It's the same size as his, anyway. It felt huge, and painful, and exactly like I imagined my first time to be. I wasn't expecting any bleeding because my hymen tore a while ago when I was dancing, but could it have done something anyway? I know if you're not careful with what you put in there you can tear things and I do feel pretty raw today.
What do you think, is it more likely to be tearing from what was basically like my first time, or was it missing a pill earlier in the week? I'd also appreciate if anyone knows what I should do if it's the pill, because I really don't want to go against my gyno's wishes and have a period again. (And I definitely don't want to go back to him because he has a long waiting list and a high pricetag.)
1 AnswerWomen's Health8 years agoAnyone know the name of this song used in "Married, Single, Other"?
The lyrics of...the bridge, I think, go like this:
While I lie in bed at night
I can feel my heart inside
I can hear it in my head
I can feel it in my fingertips
there's no way I can hide
this desperation
There was also a line earlier on that caught my attention which was "the fortune teller said 'I told you'".
Hope you can help. Even if you can only tell me the artist or something, it'll give me somewhere to look.
1 AnswerLyrics1 decade agoCan anyone tell me the name of this old PC game?
When I was way younger my dad used to play this game which I'm pretty sure had an alien (possibly a rebel, fugitive, runaway slave?) as the main character. He can't remember the game any more and I can't remember the name. I know that whenever I think of it I think 'Abe or Zebe or Zabe' but that might be totally unhelpful and not really related.
I remember it had a cut-scene where you're hanging from some sort of...I don't know, it must have been a production line or something...and it takes you across some landscape and into a factory. I think you're trying to rescue someone, possibly a girlfriend alien or similar. The only other thing I know about it is that I had it on a disc that also had a demo of Roller Coaster Tycoon on it, so the version we played was probably a demo, and was probably released around 1999 like RCT was.
Phew! I hope you guys can help me with this! I couldn't find that demo disc which is why I searched the internet with a zillion different search terms and eventually had to ask here and lose my hard-earned points.

I'm looking for a girl with short blonde hair. That's basically everything, I'll get a fringe or contacts if I need to. I'm trying to expand my list from, wait for it...Misa. That's it.
3 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade agoWhy did my flash drive stop working?
I recently installed Adobe Photoshop CS4 on my computer. The next day when I tried to upload photos from my Sandisk Flash Drive, I got a message saying device not recognised. I thought this was odd as I had used it a few hours ago on another computer and it was fine, and the day before I installed Photoshop it had been working fine on MY computer as well. So I tried to connect my camera to the computer via USB, but got the same result. Thinking I had now pinned down the problem, I tried my mother's USB, it's also a Sandisk flash drive, not only that but they have the same amount of memory on them too, 2GB. However, I couldn't get hers to run either. So now I know that Photoshop has stuffed my drivers. Problem is, how do I fix it?
3 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agoWhy doesn't Internet Explorer 7 save my passwords? Even after I say yes to the prompt...?
Whenever I get the prompt to remember a password on Internet Explorer, I always say yes. But whenever I return to the website (I haven't even logged out most of the time, just changed pages then gone back later...) I'm asked to save the password again. Never, has my password been saved. I have THREE other computers in the house, two laptops and my sister's PC, they all have IE7 and windows xp, NONE of them have the same problem. Heeeeeeelp!
All the auto-complete functions are turned on.
I have Internet Explorer version 7.0.5730.13
My operating system is windows xp with service pack 3 installed.
Hope that info helps solve my rather baffling problem.
2 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoHow do log-ins and passwords work for websites?
My site host offers an option to password protect pages in my site, however I know that's not the same as the kind you sign up to a website with. I was just wondering how you get a website to do that, what files you need and so on. Or if there was a program that could do it for me.
3 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoBrittish ghost sighting recently?
In recent years (I thiiink 2004-2006) there was a sighting of somebody coming out the fire exit of an important Brittish building. This is all I can remeber of it, but nobody I ask seems to remember it at all. They were dressed in a black hooded cloak and I THINK it was at Scotland Yard, but I'm not sure. Hope you can help.
