How did Bush lower gas prices?
I remember gas was 1.25 when he was elected. Can anyone explain to me how he has lowered gas prices when the price is now upward of 4.00 where I live. I see it all over Y!A how he lowered gas prices... please explain if you support that viewpoint.
Thanks.
16 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy do they say it will take 10 years to get oil from offshore drilling...
when it is well documented that such deepwater platforms have gone from planning to pumping in 3 years. Countries like Denmark and Brazil have had similar timelines for drilling and construction from their deepwater rigs. The longest construction period I could find was 4 years on one of Denmark's rigs. What gives? Why can't the media just tell the truth instead of spinning everything with a liberal ecoagenda?

4 AnswersDodge1 decade agoI want a Dodge Diesel 4x4 2500 or 3500. What is the best year from 1999- 2003?
I know reliability varies from year to year, which would be the best one to own. Also do you recommend a manual or automatic tranny?

2 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoWhat do you think of the VISA IPO. Who is buying and who is not and why?
I think the initial offering is 403 million shares at 37-42 dollars. Mastercard is around 190 and has roughly 1/3 shares outstanding as Visa will initially offer. Who's in and who's out and please let me know why you feel the way you do.

2 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoDo you think the 70% tax bracket will return if a Democrat is elected to office?
I was always under the assumption that the 70% tax bracket was for the super elite during and before the Carter administration, but while looking at the tax history on taxfoundation.org I saw that if I made 85000.00 a year in the early 80's I would lose 70% of that in taxes. That's just wrong. 85k is not a lot of money even then. I'm a single income earner for my family grossing 90k a year and if my taxes double It will make it increasingly impossible to support my family and save even a miniscule amount for retirement. It seems I had more money in my pocket when I was making 500 a week. Under the Democrats plan of tax the crap out of the citizens, where is the reward for getting ahead and bettering yourself? It's a wash as far as I can see.
18 AnswersElections1 decade agoFor any of you that think that Hillary gained any experience as the first lady please tell me why you think...
this. I'm very interested in how Hillary has pulled the wool over everyone's eyes. Please cite any credible sources as to Hillary's experience as it pertains to her time in the White House.
I have a quote here from Bloomberg.com that can be verified at whitehouse.gov or the Library of Congress website.
"Clinton's claim to foreign policy experience took a hit from a front-page New York Times article that showed that as first lady she didn't have national security clearance, attend national security meetings or have access to the president's daily intelligence briefing. There is no record of her weighing in on any military decisions.
When Bill Clinton was deciding to bomb bin Laden's suspected training camp in Sudan, it was at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal when Hillary Clinton says she wasn't speaking to her husband. "
7 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhat is the most inexpensive online broker for someone who wants to buy many different stocks for long term...
investing. I use Sharebuilder right now but it seems I get eaten up with fees even in their automatic purchase plan. I like to buy around 30 different individual stocks and etf's for long term meaning I hardly sell, just buy. Is there a broker that would suit me better for my type of investing? I think the usual people on Sharebuilder probably autopurchase 2-3 different stocks, but it really doesn't work for me because after 20 purchases in a month I start getting charged for each buy.
5 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoAnyone else find it interesting that they extended Maryland's voting hours while simultaneously not showing...
the DC returns? I think they don't want the Maryland voters to know how bad Hillary is getting spanked in DC. It's been an hour since the polls closed in DC and no returns in yet... what's the problem? Did hillary pull some strings tonight?
6 AnswersElections1 decade agoCan anyone tell me why the stock CCTC is up 75% in 3 days?

5 AnswersNon-Alcoholic Drinks1 decade agoWhy is Ron Paul running for president and congress at the same time?
I just got an email from his campaign that wanted me to donate to his Congressional campaign. Is he already conceding that he won't win? It says under Texas law a person can run for president and congress at the same time. What would be the point of that unless you knew you had a slim at best chance to win the presidency. I'm really dissapointed because I have supported him. Am I right to think he's basically conceding and is setting himself up for a congressional job?

8 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoDoes anyone else hate the store cards you have to have to get discounts??
Every food store I go to wants you to sign up for a card to receive their lower prices. I literally have a stack of cards I would have to carry around to get any normal prices in stores. Does anyone else find this inconvenient? If so what can be done about it?
