I prey at the altar of Mutterhals, but haven't given up on bringing the Rev Mykeru out of retirement. Standing on TERA firma ground, I accept that Global Warming aint' Cool, but winter sucks! I alway have to bring out me Jenny Rators. When they go down, I exclaim, "Gnu Diddy! Me Jubes are cold!" Then I go all Mymadsky about it and have to call those Johnny come latelys, Robert and Daniel E to fix it. Of course they are never home and I will just have to wait for some sweet leo_prince to come save me. My best friend is a skwid. :)
Is there a way to block certain websites? ?
I want to block myspace, any ideas how that can be done?

7 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoDoes anyone really believe Obama is arrogant?
I don't like Obama, I'm no fan by a stretch, in fact he frightens me a bit, but having said that do you really find him to be arrogant?
Coming from a single mom and having gone through school on a scholarship?
I mean that seems a stretch, really lame, especially for Rove.

Someone recently said that the children are the ones losing the most (and I do agree)
Having said that were the traditional views on gender and responsibilities largely for the sake of the children?
Will today's kids end up less healthy than their predecessors?
9 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoWho's career is more important?
Cnn reports that studies indicate the man's career is always given more priority over the woman's. Even in situations where the woman earns more.
Shouldn't logic dictate that the higher earner's opportunities take priority?
9 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoHow long did the British willing ration after WWII?
I watched this British show once called 1945 house and it was so amazing! A modern family has to live in a home customized to 1945 just as the people at that time did. It was awe inspiring the sacrifice and hard scrabbleness these folks showed.
One of the things I learned was that even after the war the British people willingly chose to continue to ration necesseities for so many years afterwards.
How long was that? And Can you see anyone doing that now in a similar situation or was that just indicitive of the people in that era?
1 AnswerHistory1 decade agoWho's more decisive? Men or Women?
I'm sorry but I truly think women are much more decisive than men. Especially around matters of the heart. Women just make up their mind and go for it.
Men seem flaky about love and relationships.
Who do you regard as more decisive (in general not just about relationships - though I'm cool with you specifying if you feel the need)
12 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoHave we come a long way baby?
When thinking about the modern woman, consider how much choice she now possesses compared to her predecessors.
With the advancements women have made in career, freedom and social choice, has it cost women everything?
Rarely is anything 100% gain, usually you have to lose something in exchange.
So what have women lost in return for the benefits they've gained?
Or have they lost anything at all?
6 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoIs there a difference between begin a gold digger and?
simply refusing to go with men you find no capable of supporting you in the lifestyle you expect ?
(Inspired by a previous answer to a gold digger question)
I personally think there is, as it's not particularly wrong to insist a man be capable and responsible in employment (as that sheds light on other characteristics) before allowing yourself to fall in love with him, while purposely going after ONLY men of extraordinary wealth with little regard for anything else seems to me more like 'gold digging'
but am I wrong? If you refuse to consider a man without some financial security does that make you a gold digger?
14 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoWhy was Sappho's work systematically destroyed by later Christian censors?
I understand it was very similar to the same themes expressed by Homer.
Was Homer's work also destroyed on purpose? So was it the homoerotic edge or was it the fact that it was by a female?
1 AnswerHistory1 decade agoWhat is your opinion of the best careers for women with two small children?
meaning an infant and 9 years old. I mean if you have to work (of course in a perfect universe you'd stay home with the baby for 5 years)
But with one year of college behind you, which direction would you advise a woman to go to earn a decent living but maintain a presence in the home?
I had wanted to go into journalism but I guess I can forget about that. Way too many irregular shifts and hours away from the family.
Ideas? anyone?
12 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoDo things like this cause women to be taken less seriously?
http://omg.yahoo.com/sjp-s-dress-debacle/news/9521...
Or is this a serious issue / concern in this particular line of work?
I'm just wondering, if this is considered silly, then does it effect the way American women are viewed in general.

I'm about 10 wks along now and it's been 8 years since my last baby. I may need to seriously polish up on my baby expertise here.
there's a big stink about baby Suri Cruise still drinking from a bottle along with a sippy cup.
Is 2 years old really way too old to still be using a bottle?
I have forgotten so much!

5 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoIn trying to promote social change how effective is shame?
What I mean is, if you bombard the public with messages and harsh judgements criticizing a behavior for thirty years, will the general public eventually respond to the vocal campaign and automatically equate shame to the behavior?
because it has simply been adopted as the social norm of thought?
Is it feasible to believe that the general public can be controlled in such a manner over the course of enough time?
Through nothing more than shame and reinforcement of a message?
Or am I being too Orwellian?
