I'm looking for a place to have a birthday dinner for 15-25 people in or around uptown Dallas. Any thoughts?
Fedora (in one arts plaza) is great for group events, but we went there for someone else's bday recently. I'm looking for something similar to that, though.

Like "here, we are like a family" or "welcome to the team"?

The contract does not specify.

I feel like there is a term for the process of selling a collection of email addresses (or phone numbers, etc).

7 AnswersCats1 decade agoHow do I clean a dingy white linen skirt.?
I have a white linen skirt that is a year (maybe 2) old. I have always washed it in the mahine and let it ang dry. When I pulled out my spring clothes, I noticed it is a little dingier than my other white items, and probably needs a good cleaning. The tag says I can use non-chlorine bleach, but I have never bleached anything before and am a little hesitant to do so. Any pointers??
8 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoWould it be Inconsistent for a Christian to be a Criminal Defense Attorney?
I am not stating my personal belief one way or another. As a law student, at a Christian law school, it is something that is mentioned periodically and I think there are pretty interesting arguments on both sides.
I just wanted to see what you guys think about someone who is a Christian making his living by representing defendants in criminal matters, many who are clearly guilty. Would your answer be any different if the attorney were appointed to represent a criminal defendant if it is not his typical practice? (in many jurisdictions judges appoint attorneys from a variety of practice fields to represent indigent defendants, so in those places most attorneys have ad to play this role at some point)
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoProper way to make an introduction -- whose name do you say first?
If I am eating dinner at a restaurant with some classmates and see a friend of mine there, how do I make the introduction? Do I present her to the table and then tell her each of my classmate's names or do I go around the table naming people first and then say her name.
Would it matter if the people I was eating with were my boyfriend's parents?
Or if the other person at the restaurant who I wanted to introduce to my dinner mates was my boss or a judge?
What if I were introducing my parents to an acquaintance?
Or my parents to one of my professors?
4 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoThank you note after dinner with boyfriend's parents?
After the first time that my boyfriend's parents took me to dinner, I wrote a thank you note. It was just a short handwritten note, nothing real elaborate. Do you think this was too much? As soon as I sent it, I started second guessing myself, thinking they might think that I am sucking up some how, but I think it was appropriate after the first dinner. Thoughts??
9 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoNeighbor's noisy dog!?
I live in a two-story apartment complex. The girls who live below me have a dog that barks and barks and barks whenever they are not home. I have let them know that it barks, I have left polite notes on their door letting them know when it is barking, and have even gone so far as letting them borrow a bark collar. They seem to be using it about half the time, but not always. I have told the apartment managers but I can't tell that it did any good.
I am fully aware that I am in an inferior bargaining position so up to this point I have tried the nicest and most polite approach possible, but that is not working. Now what? Do I just have to live with it?

13 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoProper Response to Wedding Invitation?
I was hand delivered a wedding invitation addressed to me and my boyfriend (my name appeared first). The response card contains a blank that says M ______________ . What do we write in the blank? Do we mark out the "M" and write our names without a prefix? Or do we respond in the order that the invitation was addressed? Or do we put his name first? Does it even matter??
