  • Need Money Management for High Income without Debt?

    I'm seeking good ideas.

I'm in a debt relief program with about 2 years to no more unsecured debt, and about 13 to no debt at all. As this progresses, I'm realizing the tax implications with receiving a high income with no, for example, mortgage interest and other deductions except for charities. Also by the time this is over, I'll be 79 or 80, so an IRA isn't a possibility. How do people with large incomes and no debt manage not getting taxed to death? (Do they have to give it all away to keep the tax manageable?)

  • System maintenance restricted on my Gateway PC?

Whenever I try to do any system maintenance on my Gateway PC, it blocks me as "restricted". It's my PC!

    .

My path: Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Troubleshooting >

    Run Maintenance tasks > Next

    .

" An unexpected error has occurred. The troubleshooting wizard can't continue."

Open the link to Details, and it says

    "Package ID: Maintenance Diagnostic

    Path: C\Windows\Diagnostics\Scheduled\Maintenance

    Error code: 0x80070002

    Source: Engine

    User: Margaret-PC\Margaret

    Context: Restricted "

    .

Until recently, I had PC Doctor, that enabled me to do these through it. But Norton Security has replaced it, and doesn't have these facilities. I think it takes for granted that you can do it all from Control Panel.

Does anyone know how to get access back for this purpose?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Poll - what is a reasonable food budget for a family of 3?

Lately it seems as if I spend over $600/month just on groceries, and that seems outrageous.

What is a reasonable monthly food budget for a family of 3 (adults)?

  • Which Active Ingredient in Ivermectin pyrantel causes depression?

My dog has her annual exam coming up the end of this month. The past year she was taking Ivermectin pyrantel, which causes very noticeable depression for 2 or 3 days after she takes this. She is going to change to a new medicine (pill) at her visit, but I want to make sure it doesn't have the same ingredient that caused this side effect.

Does anyone know which ingredient in Ivermectin pyrantel causes depression, so I can compare the drugs prior to buying the new one?

  • What dress size does a 9 1/2 year old wear?

What dress size does a 9 1/2 year old wear?

I'm looking for a consensus. I want to buy a dress for a 9 1/2 year old in another state for Easter, but I don't want to give away the surprise by asking for her size. She's neither fat nor skinny - very average.

  • What is happening when my dog drools white, foamy...?

When, at the park, after my dog eats some grass, she has white foam on the sides of her mouth. If I wipe it off, it's almost like foamy egg white. This has happened more than once.

She is up-to-date on her shots, so I'm not worried, but curious. What causes this funny drool?

  • If the Servicer for a mortgager files Chpt 11 Bankruptcy?

I received a notice that an entity which collects and tracks mortgages held by the bank that services our mortgage loan has filed for a restructure under Chapter 11. Should I be concerned about losing my home (spend money I can't afford on an attorney)? Or should I not be concerned?

  • Worried about Medicare? Consider this.?

A commercial is airing on ION television for PosTVac, which is a medication used for sexual enhancement. The ad clearly says that your MEDICARE will cover this medication.

No wonder everyone is worried that Medicare will run out.

What are we spending our TAXES on!!!

  • Have you seen this before?

Our 20 year old son lives with us at home. He sleeps here about 2 nights a week, maybe. When he is here, he spends time on the computer, instant messaging with his friends. When he was in high school and did this, his excuse was that he has friends in Asia and it was their day-time. If I come in, he blocks the screen, is civil to me, and resumes when I leave. He leaves here on his motorcycle between midnight and 2 a.m. to go be with his friends. This has become a regular routine. Allegedly he has many who have this sort of schedule. He is always sober (not drunk or stoned), and when I see him he seems to be healthy. But he's secretive. I worry that he's headed down a very dangerous path, but I don't know any way to know for sure. He knows I am uncomfortable with this, however confrontation will gain me either a well developed, believable lie, or he will stop talking to me all together (not a desirable option).

I would like to know if you have had, or known of, this experience, and if so, what was going on?

    How was it handled?

Please don't tell me to kick him out. Looking for a specific kind of answer. Thank you.

  • Will a potholder made with acryllic (Simply Soft) melt?

I have left over Simply Soft acryllic yarn. I started making a pot holder for a friend from this yarn, and then it occurred to me that it may not be an appropriate yarn for handling heat.

Does anybody know if this would work?

  • What are some ideas for avoiding drowsiness when driving?

When driving my 20 mile commute home, sometimes I find that I get very drowsy. I already use the air conditioner and listen to rock music, and am allergic to caffeine. Aside from the obvious (get enough sleep), what are some ideas for avoiding drowsiness when driving?
