I have two colorpoint shorthair cats, and two Pitbull/Rottweiler mixed dogs. My dogs are the sweetest in the world, and if you have a Pitbull or mix you know what I'm talking about! They aren't all fighting machines. It's the breeding, raising, and socialization that makes any dog good or bad. Another thing I've recently gotten into is a more natural approach to dog care. Instead of putting chemicals on our dogs, I recommend you go to http://www.thepetwhisperer.com/Fleas.html and use the methods described there. Check out http://www.apnm.org/publications/resources/fleachemfin.pdf to see just what's in all those flea and tick medicines you're putting on your pet. Another great natural product is food grade diatomaceous earth. Please have your pets spayed and neutered, and adopt from your local shelter! This website has many links to organizations that provide financial aid for pets medical needs http://pgaa.com/financialaid.html. http://www.youtube.com/watch?
What breeds do you think my dog was?
This is my dog when I was a child. We were told he was an Airedale and Fox Terrier mix. Knowing what I know now, I don't think they were right in the least bit. He was probably about 35 to 40lbs, and had wirey fur. I have my own guesses, but I'm curious to see what others think. Here are some pics of him.
7 AnswersDogs8 years agoEstimate on cover/screen for chimney?
Twice now our cat has discovered a squirrel inside our fireplace. (Propped front door open, and opened fireplace screen..it ran outside both times) I know they make screens/covers for chimneys, but I was wondering if anyone had a ballpark figure on how much it would cost. I'm looking for answers from a chimney company. I could do it myself, but don't have a ladder that would reach, and I'm afraid of heights! lol
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoStrange cat behavior, does your cat do this?
I've seen both my cats do this, which makes sense cause they're brother and sister. Although Hermione, the female does it more. When she drinks water, she stretches one paw out almost like she's trying to swat something. I finally got a picture of her doing it, although it looks kinda rough, you can see what I mean. Have you ever seen a cat do this?
6 AnswersCats1 decade agoWould you ever reuse a pets name?
My old neighbors had a Samoyed years ago that they named Minka. After that dog passed away, a few years later they got another Samoyed and named her Minka too. I would never be able to name a new pet the same name as one of my old pets. I just wouldn't be comfortable, and it would be like the memories of the old pet clashing with the new one. So, would you ever reuse a pets name? Yes, or no, and please explain.
10 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat insect looks like a dandelion seed/cotton?
I live in Rockford, Illinois. I've never seen an insect that looked like this before. I thought it was a dandelion seed blowing in the wind. I caught it on my hand and felt little insect feet crawling on me. It flew off and I caught it again, and noticed it had wings hidden in it's cottony looking body. Does anyone know what this is?
