  • How long do i have to vacate if ownership has changed?

The condo I am renting recently went into foreclosure and was purchased in a public auction by an investment company. I was contacted by them today and they wanted to schedule a time to come by the unit and look at it. I'm okay with that, but I would like to know how many days notice I get to vacate. I live in California and under California law I know that a landlord must give a tenant 60 days notice to vacate if he/she has lived there longer than a year (which I have), but I would like to know if this 60 days applies when the ownership of the property has changed, or if the new owner doesn't have to give me as much notice.

    Thanks in advance!

  • If you get married in another country is it legal in the US?

A couple years ago I got married in another country (Ecuador) to an Ecuadorian citizen (I'm a US citizen) and need to know if the marriage is valid in the U.S. We went to the courthouse there to get the marriage license. We don't really talk anymore so I'm not sure if I can just forget the whole thing ever happened and get married in this country or if I need to get a divorce first, and if so, how would I go about doing that? I never filed for anything here, but I do still have the marriage license from Ecuador.

  • crytalline structure - octahedral holes?

Cobalt fluoride crystallizes in a closest packed array of fluoride ions with the cobalt ions filling one half of the octahedral holes. What is the formula of this compound?

I really don't understand how you can use this information to come up with a formula. Any help would be incredibly appreciated!!

  • Chemistry phase change question - ice added to steam?

75.0 g of ice at -10.0C is added to 10.0 g of steam at 100C. What is the final temperature of the 85.0 g of water? (specific heat of ice water = 2.03 J/g-C; gas = 2.00 J/g-C; heat of fusion = 6.02 kJ/mol; heat of vaporization = 43.9 kJ/mol)

I'm not really sure how to start this problem because I don't know when to use mass = 75 g and when to use 85 g. I know the ice has to go from -10C to 0C and then change to liquid, but not sure how to incorporate the steam. The final answer is supposed to be 5.5C. Any help would be much appreciated!

  • Chemistry phase change question?

How much heat is needed to change 7.50 g of silver from solid at 25C to liquid at 961C? (specific heat of silver is 0.237 J/g-C, melting point is 961C, heat of fusion is 11.0 J/g).

    This is what I've done...

    (7.50g)(0.237 J/g-C)(936C) = 1663.745J

    (11.0J/g)(7.50g) = 82.5 J

    total heat required = 1663.74 + 82.5 = 1746.24

    Is that right???

  • What's the etiquette on a brazilian wax?

I've been going to the same salon for about 6 months now to get a brazilian wax (with the same girl) and I really like her, but I'm not sure if a brazilian includes her waxing my anal area or not. She does everything else but that, but I actually want her to get the hair in that area as well. Is it okay to ask her to get that? Or does that go beyond the scope of the brazilian? I feel sort of awkward asking her to get that area, but I'm paying $60 each time, so I sort of feel like I should be able to, I'm just not sure what the proper etiquette is.

    Any advice would be great!

  • Does anyone know anything about the "respect campaigns" in Chile?

I'm writing a paper on the experience of Peruvian immigrants in Chile, in particular, the racism and discrimination they suffer from. I was told there was a campaign going on in Chile right now asking for respect for indigenous people and immigrants, including Peruvians, because they are treated so poorly, but I can't find any information that specifically talks about the campaign with respect to Peruvians. If anyone has any information on it or a website I could go to, that would be great. It can be in English or Spanish.

    Thanks!

  • How to gain experience when I don't have any?

I'm in my 4th year of college (at UCSD) and want to be a veterinarian (I decided kind of recently) so I've been going through the phonebook calling every vet office in the area trying to get any sort of job, either volunteer, paid, or just observing, but they all told me no. I have a bunch of friends who are pre med and they all have jobs working in hospitals, observing and doing miscellaneous things. Why can't I get a job like that? My grades are good, I have a 3.7, I've had other paid and volunteer jobs (not related to animals), and I'm currently volunteering for an animal center "socializing" abandoned dogs. Vet school requires a minimum of 180 hours experience, and I don't think socializing dogs is the kind of experience they are looking for. How do I get real experience?? Any ideas??

  • "Ironic" lyrics by Alanis Morissette?

Every time I listen to that song I'm confused...

In the part where she's talking about the guy who is too afraid to fly but then flies for the first time and crashes...there's a line that says "And as the plan crashed out, he thought, 'well isn't this nice?'"

Is he being sarcastic when he thinks "well isn't this nice" (like, oh great, this is my first flight and it's crashing) OR does it mean that since it's his first flight he doesn't know what a plane ride is supposed to be like and he thinks it actually is nice??

What do you think Alanis meant?

  • Help! I'm living with a slob! Can I say something to her?

A Turkish grad student recently moved into my apartment, about 3 weeks ago. I'm not a neat freak, but I like to keep things fairly tidy. I went away for the weekend, and when I came back, the entire bathroom floor was covered in black hair (she has long black hair, I have red hair, so clearly none of it was mine). It's disgusting! It's also on the countertops and the bathtub. I have long hair too and I know I shed a lot, but I make sure I throw it in the trash. I end up vaccuuming the bathroom at least 4 times a week. I don't know if she doesn't know how vaccuum or if she just doesn't care that her hair is everywhere, but how do I tell her that she needs to start vaccuuming without coming across as a *****??
