what lead you to your understanding of gender?

For me it was putting varied sources, side by side, and seeing the connections for example, putting these two things together

“Emotional neglect lays the groundwork for the emotional numbing that helps boys feel better about being cut off. Eruptions of rage in boys are most often deemed normal, explained by the age-old justification for adolescent patriarchal misbehavior, "Boys will be boys." Patriarchy both creates the rage in boys and then contains it for later use, making it a resource to exploit later on as boys become men. As a national product, this rage can be garnered to further imperialism, hatred and oppression of women and men globally.

This rage is needed if boys are to become men willing to travel around the world to fight wars without ever demanding that other ways of solving conflict can be found.”

  • the male body and female/male desire conflict in movie?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lbj8TrtPi04

On G/S it has been common in the past to talk about male nudity and if

women are really attracted to it,

now that video is a male film reviewer (not female) but i can use him as a counter point.

Talking about the male body, as visual spectacle.

However a key theme is one of male power and aggression, the boxers in

"Women in love", or the military conflict of "300".

Now those films had a pretty strong male audience

    (same with the transporter movies)

the bodily spectacle only to show some form of better serving the needs of conflicting violence.

Twilight or magic mike, both movies about the male body, but the praise is effectively one of serving as a sexual canvas for heterosexual female desires as criteria to evaluates the male form, the body is not for war fighting but sex appeal in capacity.

A noticeable factor around them (more so for twilight) was quite a strong

culture of dislike primarily from males commentators (edward cullen is treated as being faggy or sissy, you get the general idea around "glitter-vamps" accusation

the question is a general, what do you think of that difference, things like is there sort of a contradiction in conflating a sexy man to a "female gaze" as being a homosexual, or not a totally male coded character (seemingly around being emo instead of a angry warrior)

  • opinion on the attractiveness of men in women's cycling?

    http://www.dailylife.com.au/news-and-views/dl-opin...

spotted that today, I don't follow cycling myself but it takes a while to get to the point but here it is

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, yes, it’s all a bit of fun - the light-hearted exclamation mark and Non-Threatening Boys Magazine tone of ASO’s announcement suggests as much - but dragging the Tour’s least savoury aspect (podium girls) into this new era by shunting podium boys onto the blocks for the denouement of La Course feels misguided.

(It also feels like a Get Out Of Jail Free card for any bloke who wants to silence feminist debate about the validity, in 2014, of employing podium girls in elite sport; “Well, we’ve had podium boys now, equality has been achieved, so be quiet!”)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I understand the second idea but would that really be so bad does anyone else see this as kind of wanting to pretend that, what to me is perfectly fine being that its okay to recognize that human like sexiness.

IF anything the only viewpoint i'd consider is someone making the point that it's very expectant of the sexuality of men or women in either case to present a very hetero-normative view, podium boys for girls, assumes the women cyclist all like boys.

    any othe general views

  • A contradiction in MRA/MGTOW?

it's struck me that it's a common claim that women are best avoided as being observably "too greedy"

but the arguments for avoiding women seem to be based on the males of the questions subject desire of money, women are too expensive, why should I spend money on other women/children that are not me, sounds like greed to me when the entire rational is founded on person finance.

Of course even the above being true doesn't then precluded women from being greedy also, both sexes can do that happily but the female greed seems to be a moral objection and does anyone see a contradiction in that?

MRA, is only a part of the question as I see many that are not MGTOW and genuinely are looking for females to build families with, with the problem to them simply being the social and legal mechanism of how that is arranged and tend not to attack females in a broad sense, with that said I do see overlaps and that's what i'm interested in.
