  • orthopaedic surgery on dogs and results?

my best buddy, a chocolate lab tore a ligament on her hind leg in what the vet referred to as her knee. she is a very healthy and fit 11 year old and i was told the prognosis is very good but i am really not sure what to expect during and after her recovery. i know there are no guarantees but i would really appreciate any input from those of you that have any experience in the matter. the vet has done many with very good success and an actual people orthopaedic surgeon will also be there as he is a big animal lover and donates his time.

i suppose i have a case of the "what ifs" but i am sure other pet owners will be able to help me out on this. i was not as worried when i had 2 surgeries on my shoulder and had both knees repaired and those turned out just fine.

thank you in advance and happy holidays.

  • 2005 Dodge Diesel fuelling issue.?

i have a 2005 dodge diesel 4x4 that is a pain in the backside to get filled to the top. from when it kicks off it takes 26 litres ( almost 7 gallons for those in the US ) before it is full and it can take up to 20 minutes to get it there. most often it's not really an issue but in parts of BC it can be an awful long ways between places to fill-up and the little extra is a big plus especially in poor weather with bad roads.

does anyone have a suggestion for a fix or for an after market solution you would be willing to share? i would appreciate it and it would add many hours to do other things than stand beside my truck holding a nozzle. considering i fill-up twice per week it would free-up over 14 hours per year that i could be fishing.

    thank you for any help

  • new sonar and somewhat confused so i need help.?

i recently got a Humminbird PiranhaMAX 160 and i would like to know if there is a way to find the direction of where the fish are in relation to the boat. i had a 15+ year old fishing buddy that i could just rotate the handle to figure it out but i am not too familiar with the newer tech. it has dual beams and the narrow one is easy because it shows below the boat but the wide beam shows fish but i can not figure out where they are and what direction to cast.

it's probably something simple but i am having issues and any help would be much appreciated. i am even open to the scorching "you're and idiot" comments as long as there is a little advise to go with it. most of my fishing is done with a fly-rod on streams so still-waters with sonar is is a little out of my comfort zone and learning to use a new tool would make it more productive i hope.

  • rifles that work when needed?

i have read a lot of questions asking what rifle or caliber is the ultimate. i know that everyone has their own opinion using the history of their shooting experience but this is geared to the folks that have genuine knowledge of what it takes to make a clean kill at distances that are the norm for hunting big game in North America. i am looking for answers from those that have hunted everything from elk and moose to bighorn sheep an moutain goat.

  • have to replace old style toilet with a low-flow. which one?

my old toilet has a cracked base and i have to replace it. all that i can find are low-flow toilets. my parents recently replaced theirs and the one they chose has to be flushed up to three times to clear it. i could care less about the style or make as long as i don't have to stand there waiting to make sure the bowl is empty. i like things that work properly and as advertised and i do not want to do the job twice because i did not ask questions and get the wrong one.

those with the rude answers don't bother. i can be rude myself and those thoughts have already gone through my mind.

any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

  • 2004 dodge 2500 4x4 quad cab front end clunk?

my father has a 2004 dodge 2500 4x4 that started to have a loud clunk when turning at low speed. all of the suspension and steering parts are new or near new and have been very well maintained. the u-joints have all been replaced including the axle joints and CV joint as well. all bolts have been checked and properly torqued. the vehicle is stock and does NOT have a lift kit in it.

we are at whit's end as to what it is and the dodge dealer here is a bunch of lying fools that could not find their butt with their hands behind their back.

if anyone has an idea as to what it is i would sincerely appreciate the time you take to read and answer.

in advance. thank you very much.
