  • Will the protein in white pasta mix with peanut protein to form complete protein?

Since peanut protein needs whole grain protein to supplement it, I was wondering if the protein in my non-whole grain white pasta will still be ok? There is protein listed in the nutrition information on the box, but I am still not sure if it will be the same as getting it from whole grains.

  • Should I take time off from college (see details)?

I am hoping to get some good advice, possibly from someone who has done this. My situation is a bit tricky:

I am a Computer Science student going into my senior year. I am doing very well, but I am not sure if my degree is the one I want. Lately I have been regretting not going to a school with a dual computer science and engineering program; my school has no engineering programs or even a physics department.

My problem is I may want to transfer, but would have to take time off since I have missed transfer deadlines. I haven't found much on the web about this dilemma.

I also have two other questions pertaining to this:

    1. Can time off be indefinite? For example, could I return to school even 10 years from now?

    2. I am lacking certain perquisites engineering programs expect from transfer students, such as chemistry. What are my options in terms of fulfilling these? Will a school let me transfer and take them there... I am just not sure what to do since I already have so many credits.

I am really stuck between a rock and a hard place: do I just get my degree and teach myself engineering or do I hold off for a bit while I still have credits that can be transferred?

    Thanks!

  • Game Developers: What is the best C programming book out there for a student seeking an internship?

I'm pursuing a career in game development and everybody wants C knowledge, whether it be C# or C++. My institution does not offer classes in C, so I have to teach myself. I'm looking for a book that will help me understand the theory of all types of C programming. Additionally, it would be great if it related C programming to game development and offered some exercises.

What have you found, being in the industry, is the best book for the skills to at least get my foot in the door? Thanks.

  • Can you pursue another degree while in college?

Say you are in college and want to pursue anther degree, but do not have room for a double major. Can you attend summer classes at a community college which will count towards that degree, and eventually transfer those towards a full degree, or just finish at that community college after you finish your original degree at your original school? Thanks.

  • Help with this work out plan?

I want to get started with this work out plan:

    http://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/power-mu...

However, under Chest and Triceps there are 3 bench press workouts. My problem is I don't have a spotter. What should I do to supplement these 3 activities? Also, dumbbell bench presses are included in the same workout, so that can't substitute any.

  • I can't open my mailbox?

I haven't been able to view my emails for a while now. I entered a support ticket but it's been a week and Yahoo hasn't sent anything to my alternative email yet. Here's the exact error message:

    "We're experiencing some technical difficulties...

We’re sorry, but Yahoo Mail can't load due to a temporary error. You can try back again shortly, or visit our help pages for ways to troubleshoot the issue.

    Temporary error: ymws:Server.MailboxOpenFailed"

Also, this happens to me no matter what computer I'm on. Did anyone manage to solve this problem once?

  • Which English Bible translation is closest to the original Hebrew?

I'm not looking for it for study; I have a project I want to add bible passages to and it would look much better with text closest to the original. I can compare the many versions out there for study.

Also, for study, what's a good resource to understanding genesis?

  • A question for chaos magicians?

Being that the concept behind magick in this system is that it improves one's chances of success in a given situation, have you ever done a chance experiment, say flipping a coin many times, with magick to see if it really works? And what were the results?

  • Should I get Windows 8 on a new laptop?

I have the option to get Windows 8 on a new laptop for no extra cost than getting it with Windows 7. However, I'm not sure if it's worth it. I'm primarily going to be using the laptop for gaming, papers, and computer programming. I don't know much about Windows 8, but it seems like a tablet OS implemented on a laptop. I feel like this sort of OS would only make things more difficult, but I want to hear what other people think. Thanks!

  • Does Tool (band) still tour?

I went to their website and their performances seemed to end in 2010, but I can't find anything that says they broke up either. So does anyone know if they tour and if so when? Also I'm in the U.S. Thanks.

  • What does "nardewell" mean?

I heard it as a reference to a type of ghost, but I can't find a definition, and google gives me limited results. The results that it does give either have nothing to do with ghosts or don't explain what nardewell means, even when the result uses it as a reference to ghosts.

  • How can I best set up a psychedelic 60s theme party?

I want to have a room with music that has a lot of color through lights and such. What are some cheap ways to make this work? Basically I want the room to look like the inside of a kaleidoscope. The only problem is party light projectors are quite expensive, and I want a lot for effect.

  • What does "aquarian" mean in terms of Woodstock?

One of the original Woodstock posters said "an aquarian exposition." I know aquarian refers to being born under the sign of aquarius the constellation, but what does it mean in this context?

  • How do you sync ONE app to your iPhone?

I have very limited space on my iPhone, and my family has all our apps collectively in the app folder on iTunes. I'm trying to put ONE app on my iPhone (which was even originally purchased on mine, but I deleted it and now I want it back), but whenever I drag it to my iPhone in iTunes it tries to copy other apps I don't want. Also, I can't just deal with it and delete the apps I don't want because there's so little space it probably wouldn't fit them all. How can I get just the one app I want onto my iPhone? Thanks.

  • What's a magic mushroom trip like?

I've heard two very different things: one is that you see things that aren't there and the other is that you just feel enlightened and maybe see some color distortion, but nothing totally unreal. Which is it? Or is it determined by special conditions? Also, can someone please explain how psilocybin affects the brain?

  • Is it possible to WILD without first getting 5 hours of sleep?

I've been trying to lucid dream through the WILD technique without getting 5 hours of sleep first (so I'm not necessarily ready for REM sleep). I found that the first two times I tried I started to see light coming from sides of my closed eyes (so picture a dark space with a light to the side) and heard people talking and swings in motion. But then I lost the illusion. The past few times I tried the same thing, but now I just fall asleep within a few minutes. What should I do to keep myself awake and how can I stabilize my dream when it starts to form?

Also I've never lucid dreamt before. Thanks.

  • How much water should I drink a day if I run a lot?

I run cross country and am wondering how much water I should drink to perform best. Is it more than an average person? Also this isn't the amount just before a race, the amount I'm wondering about is for everyday.

  • Is Warhammer worth starting?

It's an older game but it just recently became free to play. Because of this do a lot of people play now and is it worth playing? Also, aren't they developing a new version which will cost a monthly fee?
