Alright, I'm a 140lb 19 year old male who ran Cross Country and cycled throughout all four years of high school. I achieved times of a 4:47 mile and 17:11 5k and cycled like crazy so why is my RHR so high? It doesn't make sense to me. It should be significantly lower than what it is, right? It's been around 75-80 for nearly the past 5 years. When I'm active it stays around 120-130 but I walked up a flight of stairs yesterday and it went all the way to 146. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, am I about to die or something?

Long story short: I ship to Navy Basic on the 18th of next month. I don't have my social security card and with the government "shutdown" I can't order one until they reopen. I can't ship without it. All I have is an official statement from the Social Security office with my name and number on it that I've had for two or three years which was good for enlistment but not shipping. Is there anything else I can do?

My friend Matt has a problem. He called me today explaining that hates his job and wanted to go undesignated. That request was shot down by the LPO. He has two options now. Do two or three years as a Quartermaster(Navigation) and then cross rate or go home. He's graduated Basic and currently 3 or 4 weeks into A school for QM. He always spoke highly of the Navy and even wanted to go into SWCC now he does this. My question is what kind of discharge would he receive? He believes it will be a General but I doubt that will be the case. He said if he comes home he's going to try another branch; either Army or Marines and go infantry. I don't believe the Corps is taking prior service at the moment if he could even be called that. What are his chances?

I'll be competing for the Navy in the run tomorrow. I haven't ran in over two months so I rode my bike to the track and kicked out a mile in 5:05.
