I want to throw my bf a surprise party for his 25th Birthday, I am having a hard time finding a venue. Ideally I would like to use a small loft or rooftop space... Anyone know of any sites where I can research a location? Please help!

Want to take a trip to Puerto Rico with my bf for 5 days... We are really into sightseeing, nightlife and beaches... We want to stay in a local area, thats fairly easy to get from place to place. Also, is public transportation accesible and easy for tourists or do you recommend renting a car?? All feedback welcome!! :)

I want to make rocky road pops like the ones from starbucks... but im seeing some recipes that say to use brownie mix while others say to use devils food cake mixed with frosting... I want the consistency to be similiar to that of the starbucks pop... moist and chewy but not overly sweet. Ive never made these dessert pops before and I wanted to know what works best :)

I will be attending an indian friends wedding this wknd... and I would love to attend the ceremony in a sari or some other sort of traditional indian attire. Being american and all is that weird? I dont want to look silly or offend anyone... I have an indian friend who is also attending the wedding who said she would help me shop for one... but im nervous! The bride said she would love her guests to wear sari's but she also stressed that however we were comfortable is fine. :-)

I am going to a friends wedding... travel expenses are costing about $500, ive heard when you have to travel the bride & groom dont usually expect a big ticket gift... I dont want to show up empty handed... so I was thinking of purchasing for them a wine decanter w/ two wine glasses and have them engraved. Should i write a quote on the decanter or just stick to my orginal thought of having their initials engraved on the set? Ideas and suggestions... please. :)

A young lady I work very closely with and have developed a nice friendship with will be getting married @ the end of this month... I am one of the few people frm work she invited to the wedding :-) Anyway... my question is this, Ive been planning a surprise shower @ work for her w/ the contributions of other co-workers to present her w/ some gifts from her registry, do a sparkling cider toast and cut a cake... Is that enough? Or do I need to bring another gift when I attend the wedding?

Whenever I watch food network I notice that they just pop the chicken into the fryer or whatever without rinsing or cleaning it first. why is that? isnt that gross? and why dont they ever season meat... they sprinkle a little salt and pepper and thats it. i dont believe it possibly taste good! ur opinions?

Growing up my cousin who's about year younger than were as close as sisters. When I was about 10 my mom moved to FL with me. So i grew up in FL and her in NY and subsequently we grew apart. We still kept in contact, but it wasnt the same... In a nutshell 3 yrs ago i moved back to NY and I tried to rebuild that relationship with her but the sentiments clearly arent the same. To this day she is always bad mouthing me. Saying how Ghetto I am, how I frequent clubs with trouble making black people and the "white" clubs she goes to are so much better. Everything I do is shitty and ghetto, but she is the epitome of all things great and the funny thing is that her mom often joins right in her stupid jokes. I have had enough. How do i confront her?

My sisters were finally able to come to America after the devastating earthquake and will be staying here to finish school. I am super excited :-) (Ages 10 + 11) I visited them last week because I hadnt seen them in a few years after our father passed away. In any case I am going to visit again this weekend but wanted to bring them little gifts. Any ideas? Nothing super expensive, I just want to make a nice gesture...

My boyfriend was audited, and the IRS determined he owes the money which is about $4000. He really cant afford to pay it back but is cooperative and is willing to do his part to diminish the debt. What are his options in terms of payback?

I am looking to purchase a new laptop for the spring semester of school. I cant afford an apple, so Im browsing the PC's. Basically i'll be needing the laptop to do homework, so i will need microsoft office, and a decent amount of memory since ill also have my music, photos and other media on it. Plus I need a good warranty and customer service for any issues that may arise. My budget is $700... Any suggestions?

I dont use measurements when I cook... but I wanted to make a pasta salad with tomato and mozz... Can you give me any improvements if something sounds off?

Boil a box of rotini pasta, drain, toss with butter and parmesan cheese and garlic

Slice grape tomatos in half and toss with a block of cubed fresh mozz, fresh basil, olive oil, balsamice vinergarette, and salt and pepper to taste.

Once I was ready to serve I would toss the pasta and everything else together and sprinkle with a little more basil and parm for kick. Does this sound appetizing? What improvements could I use?

A co-worker asked me to make the cupcakes for her son's birthday party...Im great with recipes and decorating but I really want to try making some creme filled ones (chocolate like yankee doodles) Can i use regular whipped frosting? Whats the best method of getting the creme inside? (No dirty jokes! Lol)

I've been a point to be more conscious of when my period comes and goes, i noticed that over the last few months it would a come day earlier than I expected... Last month it came on the 21st and ended on the 25th I counted from the 26th till yesterday when it came again which totalled less the 28 days. Should i be overly concerned? Is this natural?

My bf provides about 80% of the financial support for his two young nieces ages 2 and 1. His 2009 and return was audited and IRS asked for proof of support that he has provided his dependants. He submitted the paperwork initially and they said it was "unreadable" so they denied his claim and asked for him to repay $4100.00 So he resubmitted more paperwork with greater detail and even mailed it to their office certified. Today, he recieved a letter of defiency, he called again to ask what he was missing and the agent on the phone claimed that no one has even reviewed the documents he submitted the second time, to give them about a week and follow-up again. How are they allowed to do this? What can we do? Can we fight this? Please, any advice is greatly needed!

My bf and I are leaving for Montego bay in 20 days :D The price of our trip includes, transportation to and from the resort, 3 meals a day, drinks, tax and gratuities. How much will we need if we decide on any excursions and other small things? I was thinking about $600 each, will that be enough?
