  • Help with hair growth?

My hair grows so slowly. In the last three years, it has probably grown about 5 inches total, so with trims, it looks about the same length from year to year. I let my ends get really dead in these last few months, as I was too afraid to cut it. Finally, my mom convinced me to get my dead ends cut off...well they took off three inches! So basically, right now, it is collarbone length. This is really disappointing because all the growing out I've tried to do has gone down the drain. I also like to wear my hair up in ponytails and I think they look stupid with such short hair. Back to square one, I guess. I actually cried in the middle of the beauty salon.

Anyways, do you have any tips to make hair grow faster? Is there a way to do it?

  • help help help help help?

    Seriously, though.

Okay so I'm writing rhetorical precis for english and I need to know if I punctuated this sentence correctly:

Slay supports this idea by giving many examples of how Stevens has complete respect for his father, and how, to him, his father is the epitome of a perfect butler; someone to try to be exactly like so that Stevens, too, can achieve greatness.

It is supposed to be "very long" says my teacher.

Also, if you know what a rhetorical precis is, is this one correct:

Jack Slay Jr., in “Ishiguro’s The Remains of the Day” (1997), describes that Stevens’ definition of dignity and lack of emotion results from his relationship with his father. Slay supports this idea by giving many examples of how Stevens has complete respect for his father, and how, to him, his father is the epitome of a perfect butler; someone to try to be exactly like so that Stevens, too, can achieve greatness (“Ishiguro’s The Remains of the Day”). The writer would like the reader to understand that Stevens’ actions and viewpoints come from observing his father’s work throughout his life ( Slay “Ishiguro’s The Remains of the Day”). Slay’s article is aimed towards an audience of literary critics so that they may receive a more in-depth explanation of how the relationship and actions between Stevens and his father has shaped Stevens’ life.

    Thanks!

  • Which name do you like better?

    Katherine Isabel or Violet Isabel.

    And why?

BQ: Are you annoyed with Yahoo too? Six of my old questions have been deleted today for "chatting" when I merely asked about baby names. This one will probably be deleted too....

  • Any songs that have made you cry lately?

I was listening to the (500) Days of Summer Soundtrack, and Bookends by Simon and Garfunkel came on. I can't really explain why it made me cry, but it did. So, now I'm sitting here crying and listening to it because it is so beautiful.

Just felt like getting that off my chest, lol.

What songs have made you cry or feel like crying lately?

  • iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s?

What is the difference between these two phones? Why should I choose one over the other? I might be getting one of these iPhones soon, and the 4 is cheaper. But I want to know what the benefit of splurging for the 4s would be?

    Thanks!

  • Are these punctuated correctly? SHORT?

However, by chance, the fire that the boys set is so big that a passing ship sees the smoke and rescues the remaining boys; before Roger can fully come into power and before Jack can kill Ralph.

This is little solace for Ralph who yells to restart the fire, and shows his “chieftainship” (Golding 73) for a bit longer.

    Thank you!

    Mitzi M. Mouse

The M doesn't stand for anything, lollll. I just thought it sounded distinguished when I was 10. hahaa

  • The names Maisie and Auden?

Okay, so this is two questions in one.

    Maisie:

I like the name Maisie a lot. Pronounced may-zee. However, it seems a little nick-namey to me. Do you know of any names that it could be a nickname for. I thought of maybe as a nickname for Margaret or Matilda, but it's a bit of a stretch. Do you have any suggestions?

    Auden:

I know that Auden is originally a boy's name. However, I was reading a book and the main character was a girl named Auden. That was the first time I had heard the name. I have grown to really like it on a girl, rather than a boy. Since it is uncommon, do you think it would work for a girl?

    Thanks!
