  • Will this short cause a fire?

I have an inverted installed in my truck and the wiring runs through the firewall. There is a thermal breaker in-line half a foot from the battery. If the wire insulation wears and the copper wire contacts the firewall, will it arc and cause a fire or will the breaker protect from that?

  • When do you pay sales tax on a vehicle purchased out of state?

I live in New Jersey but just bought a used car from a dealer in Ohio. The dealer did not charge me sales tax because I would have to pay NJ sales tax when I register the car. I registered the car today, but was not charged sales tax. I think the DMV registered the car as if I was transfering the title from OH to NJ (as you would do when moving between states), and not as a new purchase. Did I just get away with avoiding the taxes, or will they pick up on it in the system and charge me down the road? And can they even do anything since the car is already registered? Am I in the clear?

  • Chantix free trial coupon?

I saw a coupon on the Chantix website for a free trial of the first month's prescription but when I went back to print it a few days later it was gone. By any chance did someone save the pdf of the coupon? My insurance won't cover it so if someone could send me the coupon it would be really helpful.

  • Motorcycle idle speed?

My 1991 Kawasaki Vulcan idles low for a few seconds then stalls out after i turn the choke off. I cleaned the fuel filter, air filters, checked the spark plugs and all are fine. This just started happening recently, but since I bought the bike several years ago, it has always backfired, and the previous owner did carb work. If I had to guess the problem I would think the fuel air mixture is too lean, or the carbs are dirty. After I do a compressoin test to rule out engine problems, if I just adjust the idle speen knob will this be a permenant solution or will it eventually cause engine damage if I don't fix the carb's fuel air mixture? I'm looking for a solution that doesn't invovle me messing with the carburetors.

  • Retroactive auto insurance premium?

I obtained an auto insurance policy in August 2007. In January 2008 (five months after the policy was purchased) I received my policy renewal. The renewal price was substantially more than the initially policy cost because the insurance company had written my original policy with innacurrate information (assumptions they made that were incorrect, there was no falsification on my part). I cancelled the policy and found a new provider. The insurance company then sent me a bill retroactively charging me for the original policy with the new information and premium changes. Can they retroactively charge me for the policy that I had already paid in full based on our original agreement? Does the insurance company have any legal recourse or right to collect this money?

I already filed an official complaint with the NJ Dept. of Banking and Insurance and am waiting to hear back.

BTW don't need people's opinion, looking for response from someone who knows the laws in regards to this

  • hanging on plaster walls?

It seems like I have sheetrock on top of plaster and lathe walls. I used an awl for the pilot holes but couldn't get through the lathe. I put two screws (no anchors) in and hung a cabinet (about 30lbs). The screws are secure, the cabinet seems sturdy, and there was no cracking in the wall. Will it hold or how long do I have until it crashes to the ground?

  • Evangelical Question: Is worshipping Jesus considered idolotry?

The ten commandments say that "you should have no other God before me." Yet Evangelicals say that the only way into heaven is to accept the lord Jesus as your savior. Why is worshipping Jesus not considered idolotry? You are worshipping someone other than God himself. He may be the alleged son of God, but that would be like ignoring a king's decree because a prince told you something different.

How do Evangelical's explain this contradiction? Please don't tell me that the bible is not meant to be taken literally, as a rational person I know this, lets assume I'm not rational though (aka Evangelical).

  • Will splitters affect my HDTV?

My cable line runs through 3 splitters (a 2way, 3way, and 2way) and then into a signal booster before reaching my HDTV. Am I getting the full signal strength and how would I be able to tell? Also, my cable box to the tv is linked by an HDMI cable. Is this neccassary? If the coaxial is analog format to begin with will the digital cord be of any benefit? Please help, I'm trying to maximize the picture on a very large investment.
