Donald Trumps Afghanistan Address tonight?
Is it true that if Afghanistan continues to be a thorn in America's flesh, President Trump is going to send in the US Navy
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics4 years agoWhen Donald Trump has telephone conversations with other world leaders whose first language is not English how does he convey his meaning?
I ask this question because English is my first language and I find his grammar and phrase construction so appalling I can't possibly see how translators can manage to get his meaning across. Does Donald Trump realise he is not speaking to middle America? Or have I got it wrong and he is actually speaking to middle America?
3 AnswersLanguages4 years agoQuestion for aspiring politicians?
When he who must be obeyed made twittering his preferred means of communication, I started using twitter as well, and so now I'm a complete twit.
But my question is - How can I get more people to follow me and read my tweets? Donald has millions of followers and I only have four.

1 AnswerCurrent Events4 years agoWhy didn't evolution give humans lots of body hair to keep them warm in winter?
I'm assuming Charles Darwin got it right about evolution of the human species, but what I don't understand is why we lost most of our body hair and had to start making clothes for warmth and protection.
18 AnswersPhilosophy8 years agoHow easy is it to change your opinion of people?
There are two people currently in the news who I used to think were both plonkers with nothing to offer the world outside of their own self interests. Because of their stand on social issues in the recent press and TV news I have completely changed my opinion of both of them, and now they have gone right to the top of my list of people worthy of respect and admiration.
Do we judge people too easily on first impressions, or are first impressions the best guide to long term personal assessment?
One of the people I'm referring to works in the media and the other in the military. Can you guess who they are?
3 AnswersPhilosophy8 years agoDoes anyone have a really good reason why the USA is so conservative when it comes to Gun Laws?
The USA suffers around 10,000 deaths per year from gun related crime, 17,000 deaths a year from suicide using a firearm, and 800 deaths a year from shooting accidents.
I looked up comparative statistics for France, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and they are all many times lower. In fact if you add the totals of all these countries together you get the same total population as the USA, but only 670 deaths per year from gun related crime, 3400 from suicide with a gun, and 130 deaths from gun accidents.
This is clearly related to guns being so readily available in the USA so I thought the figures for homicides not related to guns must be comparatively lower in the USA, but it isn't - 5,500 homicides per year in the USA not related to guns and 2,450 homicides in total in the other countries. So it seems like the easy availability of guns in the USA also makes it more likely to be killed with a knife, or a blunt instrument, or anything else.
Can anyone provide a sensible reason why residents of the USA should support any government that tolerates these dismal statistics?

How many can you remember as being truly memorable, not for the sense of occasion but for the sheer culinary delight and enjoyment of an amazing meal?

All English translations of the Gospels use this word (with or without the 'u') in Jesus second commandment but who was he referring to? In English is could mean anyone from the people who live next door to everyone on earth.

13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is a resonable traffic speed limit on residential roads.?
I live on a private totally residential estate with roads going nowhere other than to peoples homes. The residents group are concerned about traffic safety in view of kids, pedestrians, pets etc and have been considering posting traffic speed limits in the hope of slowing vehicles down to a safe limit. What do you think the best posted speed limit should be?
The furthest any driver would have to travel from the main highway to a house on the estate is less than 1 kilometer.
12 AnswersSafety1 decade agoWho do you think is the luckiest person in the world alive today, and who is the unluckiest?
I was reading the Bangkok Post today and there was this story about a Japanese man who was visiting Hiroshima on business on 6th August 1945, the day the first Atom Bomb was dropped. He survived the blast and after a day in hospital he decided to leg it back home to Nagasaki. No sooner had he arrived home than a second Atom Bomb was dropped on top of him. He's still alive today and I was just wondering if he was the luckiest man alive or the unluckiest man alive, or both.
