  • Help with itchy pup...?

We moved to a new apartment a week ago - and over the last couple of days, my 6yr old Pom-Chiuhahua mix has been VERY itchy. He isnt eating or drinking normally; and he is scratching so much that he is pulling a LOT of fur out & making his skin raw & bloody. I have tried giving him Benadryl, but cant get him to take much of it without spitting it out, and we bought Frontline for him in case it is fleas. I also have 3 cats & they arent reacting like this. So I am beginning to think its the stress of the move - does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can ease his discomfort??

  • Positive pregnancy test - but no ovaries?!?!?

This sounds ridiculous - but my daughter had her ovaries removed in 2 seperate surgeries by 2 different Dr's. A few weeks ago, she started having her typical pregnancy symptoms (ie: blood pressure headaches, heartburn etc) - she also was feeling "flutters". I thought she was insane. But last night she had me feel her tummy - and there was a no-mistakin' it - OMG - this is crazy... KICK! Others felt it too...

My daughter got both post-op reports from the surgeons, and they both say that the ovaries were removed. Her family doc was concerned a few weeks ago because her hormone levels were NORMAL, and THAT shouldnt be without ovaries either!

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this??? She has taken 2 pregnancy tests & both were positive.

She is really freaking out because she already has 2 sons - both of whom are special needs due Fragile X Syndrome.

If anyone can help shed any light on this... PLEASE??

    Thanks!!

  • Anyone with Vaginal Cancer history...?

I am wondering what symptoms women have experienced. I am experiencing several - and have been for quite a while. I just got a call that my "pap" (I had a total Hyst 18 yrs ago - no cervix) came back abnormal & they are doing a Colposcopy next week. I am concerned based on what I have found thru online research & would love to know from someone firsthand. Thank you!

  • Tooth extraction - opened sinus cavity - help?

I had a molar extracted today and the root was into my sinus cavity - so when they pulled it - it created a hole between my sinus & my mouth. The Dr. left it open - no packing, stitches etc... Now it is VERY difficult to swallow anything - and exhaling makes my cheeks puff out because of the very strange air flow / vacuum. I am getting fluid from my drink up in there & it BURNS! Doc said "give it a week",,, huh?? And let's talk about the PAIN!! Anyone been through this? If so - any home remedies to help? I just need to block that hole! Going back to the Doc isnt a great option as this little venture ended up costing me WAY more money than I have - so unless they do it for free - I am tapped :( Any suggestions??

  • New cat - how do I get her to come out of hiding??

We got a cat 5 days ago - a beautiful smoke Persian. We got her from a rescue - and she came to them from a VERY abusive home. She nearly died before the lady at the rescue got her medical attention (including a blood transfusion). She is very healthy now! However - since we brought her home, she has been hiding. Behind the sofa, under the bed, chairs etc. She hasnt come out even ONCE. We have 2 other cats and a small dod - who she seems fine with (when they find her) - and she lets us pet her in her hiding place. How can I get her to come out & explore without traumatizing her?? I have been taking small dishes of food & water to wherever she's hiding. Any suggestions?? I really would love to get to know her so that I can give her a name! :)

  • Chest, shoulder & neck pain???

Ok - I will try to give as much detail as I can without taking up your whole day!

On Wednesday night, I watched a movie while lying on the floor, with a pillow, and lying on my right side. When I got UP from the floor - I had a very sudden & very painful stabbing pain in my LEFT shoulder area. It went down the left arm almost to the elbow. At first, I attributed it to lying on the floor Went to bed & woke up about 3 times during the night in EXCRUTIATING pain - not only in my neck/shoulder/arm - but in my left sided chest (including about half of my breast & just below it. I went to the ER Thursday & they said it was probably a muscle strain, with maybe a pinched nerve & gave me pain meds & a muscle relaxer. These help with the chest pain (a little) - but nothing for the neck area. I called my primary Doc & he said probably nerve, but nothing they could do for it anyway (I dont have insurance).

My question is: could this be something else that MAY be emergent?? Please help...

  • Pomeranian is very distressed - seems to be in pain...??

My Pom pup ( 5 yrs old) woke us up at 1:30 am - crying, fidgeting and scooting his bottom on the floor. I took him outside to see if he had to go to the bathroom - that hasnt helped. He had impacted anal glands 2x in his life - but never like this - all of a sudden & seeming to cause him a great deal of pain. I am not sure what to do to calm him down! He is REALLY freaking out! And it's the middle of the night... Anyone have any ideas????

  • Pain Relievers?

Does anyone know of a good pain reliever that does NOT contain Ibuprofen (or any other Non-Steroidals) OR Acetaminophen?? I was recently advised by a Dr. not to take either - and I get crippling headaches. Any suggestions are appreciated!

    Thanks!
