If you win "Best Answer", but the asker deletes the question, do you lose those points?

I didn't think this would be an issue, but I answered a question, and I really put in a good, thoughtful answer. Other people were answering just to tell me I gave a good answer. I was proud of it. Then the asker DELETED the question :( Do I lose my 12 (10 for Best Answer, 2 for answering)?

The question was probably removed by the Yahoo! Answers Team because you can't delete a question after it's been resolved.

And no, you don't lose your points. You only lose points when you ask questions.

If the asker closed the question by picking a best answer they couldn't have deleted the question. However, they could have deleted it before actually picking the best answer. If they did this, than you keep your 2 points for answering, but it would be impossible for them to award you the 10 points. However, if they picked a best answer and we removed the question, then you could have gotten 12 points. If this was the case then you keep the 12 points that you got from answering.

No, you do not. If the asker deletes it at the same time as it truly is open surely everyone who responded receives to keep their 2 factors. no matter if Yahoo deletes it after it truly is been resolved you'll nevertheless get to keep the criteria. the in undemanding words way you lose factors on your answer is in case your answer itself receives reported and bumped off.

I think that once you earn the points you get to keep em - keep up with the good answers!
