Are there really people here who don't believe the US is already the greatest country in the world?

Where else would you even consider in the same league?

America is the greatest country in the world, but it is a work in progress nonetheless. There are many innovative ideas we could learn on our own and from other nations.

I am fully loyal to the US, but I don't really understand stating, baselessly, that we are the greatest country in the world. There are countries with greater per capita GDPs. There are countries with more legal protections for their citizens, with more equality, with fewer people falling through the cracks.

America is the most powerful country in the world, but only because we are several times larger than any of the other Western liberal democracies.

This is pure propaganda! This country is a decent country and you can never truly know what country is the greatest till you visit them all.

I think this country has many problems and so do all countries but without having all the facts how can anyone really make such a bold and uneducated statement as to what country is best.

As of the moment I am content with my country and I think that is all one can ask for.

there are many who believe that. those are 2 types.

1. the kind that lives in a different country and hates what the US stand for, for whatever reason

2. The people who live here and bitcchh and moan about it. But if they were gone they would be dying to get back in.

The fact is, America is the greatest country and there is no other in the same league.

Why do you think people are always fighting to get in, noone is fighting to get out.

There are certainly other places on this earth that must be wonderful places to live. But there's no place like the U.S. of A. France, Greece, The Caribbean all come to mind as wonderful places to visit. But living there might be different than a visit. So, I'll just take my chances here.
