Boyfriend making fat jokes?

Question

My boyfriend of just one month had started making slide remarks about being out of shape a couple weeks ago.

The one that I couldn't stand though was when we were in bed, he mentioned how his job kept him toned, and then laughed and jiggled my thigh and said, "Unlike this."

And that hurt, I cried. He apologized continuously and said he didn't realize his jokes hurt, and said he'd drop it.

Should I just wait and see if it's true, am I overreacting, or is it intolerable?

I'm not even fat. I'm just average. :c

Men can be that way sometimes. IMO you should give him another chance. He probably wasn't thinking

That sounds like he was playing, too, but, if he makes a lot of these jokes, he is not playing. There are a lot of men who really care if their girlfriend is bigger than they think they should be. I have met many men that joke about their spouses/girlfriends thighs and they are serious. Dead serious.To the point where their spouse/girlfriend constantly work out to make sure the jokes stop. 

In these cases, they were happy.It was a personality/character flaw of his, she just accepted it. You would have to figure out if you could accept it. If you wait and really care for him, would it really make you want to leave him after he said more and more? 

If that is the worst thing he does, it probably could be forgivable? It is only if he begins on your hair, your tummy, your arms, your cooking.....etc.

That was rather harsh, I'll have to admit.  But... we all make blunders in a relationship.  The real question is, can you two grow together, forgive together, make mistakes together, mature together...
