Do I have to use raw peanuts to make Peanut Brittle?

I have a big jar of roasted peanuts and I want to use them up by making brittle for a birthday gift to my sister. The recipe I found insist on using raw peanuts. Help!

I've made it with all kinds of stuff. It's all good. I have used roasted almonds and that is very good.
