Concern about Marine Bootcamp.?
I have been an official poolee in the delayed entry program for the Marines, since September of 2014. My beginning IST (initial strength test), was as followed: flexed arm hand- 12 seconds, crunches- 44, 1.50 mile run 16+minutes.
I ship to bootcamp on Feb 1, 2015. We just had anot her IST last weekend since we have a new Gunny taking over. My new IST stats are: flexed arm hang- 60 secs, crunches 84, and 1.50 mile run in 13.40. Even though I passed my run, I still struggle running and its one of my biggest worries.
I am so close to ship. I know when have to pass another IST on the island. I'm not so much worried about the arm hang or the crunches... but this run! I passed once but like I stated really struggle. I have never liked running and I def don't want to get dropped to PCP.
Can anyone give me some insight, motivation, or know what will happen at boot if for some reason I don't make time? Like, how many chances do hey give you to pass the run? I guess I'm letting my nerves get to me. I just don't want to fail! Any insight is appreciated.
I'm 23 years old, 5'3" and weigh 141lbs. I'm of athletic build. Thanksnfor your answers.
Also, I'm supposed to attend a pool function tomorrow (specifically to all females), however, I jut had one last week AND I ship in a week. It supposed to rain all day and I don't want to take the chance of getting sick/injured. What would you do? I really don't want to go! I've never missed one before!
Thanks!
