Probably, because the smell will still be there. You should try picking up something like Feliway. These products neutralize the marking smell so that it won't trigger the same reaction in other cats.

the odor of your "old" cat will affect your new cat. The new cat will probably urinate on the furniture where your "old" cat urinated--good luck! you may have to get rid of the furniture!

There are some conceivable motives he may be doing it. He might have a bladder an infection. i've got heard whilst they have this, they do no longer continuously make it to a muddle pan. Has he been declawed? I study someplace as quickly as that often cats that have been declawed substitute into very attentive to textures their paws touch, and so as that they're going to steer away from muddle. i understand you mentioned you have seen him squatting, yet are there cats he can see exterior who must be frightening him? I had a cat as quickly as who ought to work out stray cats exterior, and it disenchanted him that he could no longer get to them i think of. each so often he sprayed, yet each so often he basically squatted and urinated. (Edited to declare: If he is going contained in the comparable factors lots, attempt sprinkling pepper in that spot once you clean it actual nicely; mine hated it and prevented that section. additionally, aluminum foil unfold obtainable stopped him for a jointly as, yet he quickly have been given used to the sound and performed with it rather.) good success, because of the fact i comprehend it is probably the main no longer difficulty-free issues to pass by way of.

I am no expert but I have been raised around all kinds of animals all my life and I would say yes it will. Your new cat will know that he is the only one around your home and so if by chance that old cat shows up he will want it to know that he lives there now ( of course he does not know that it is not coming back )

Probably. It will want to mark its territory. There's a spray that's supposed to eliminate urine, though... Found it! See below...
