Is anyone else outraged that, while we struggle with gas prices, oil companies are making such HUGE profits?
Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Exxon... all reporting record-breaking earnings while we (in the US) struggle to pay for the gas we need. Earnings of 12-16 Billions and that considers loses due to hurricanes. My faith that God will take revenge comforts me. :)
Gee, tylerr, were you born Teusday? "...A little higher than it was"? You must have income to support the high cost of gas -- well, congrats! But I (like many) struggle for every penny.
In the late 1960 and early 70s, wasn't gas 10 cents a gallon?
How many government officials (President, administration, congress...) own stock in oil companies? It seems like a conflict of interests - they scream high prices but their dividend checks are in the mail.
I think people running for public offices should reveal the companies they own stock in & how much.
Oh, thanks, jammer - you had to remind me of politicians' huge paychecks! Don't get me started on that!! (... no, really, thanks - it adds fuel [no pun intended] to the fire.)

Yes, completely outraged, and I have E-mailed the EPA, and my state representatives to enlighten them of my outrage.
Fact: The EPA has unwisely chosen to forbid the drilling and refining of our own oil resources. Our so-called current President could easily issue an executive order to over-ride the EPA's stupidity but given that he's a greedy oil-aholic as I call him, the US citizens were **** on again:(

yes i am upset about the increase in gas in the past ten years. when i first started to drive gas was only 1.00 a gallon i could fill up my gas for 10.00. now i am always stuck at home with the kids because i cant afford to go to the park. however my family owns oil wells in Texas and gets their dividend paycheck annually and it is not much more then a hundred dollars for each family member. we do have a big family but it makes it to were it doesn't even cover the extra price in gas. i was watching the news and the president says that gas prices are on the rise to try and help the environment people are less likely to abuse the gas the way they were and he states that it is working. now i don't agree with our president but we are not the only country going through this monumental crunch. Paris and London gas prices are 6.00 a gallon or more in US dollars. yes the gas prices are very hard and i can only hope that it will go down. currently in TN gas is 2.79 a gallon and goes up to 3.00 during traveling season and it is only going to go higher. i heard that there maybe a strike around the 4th of July but haven't researched it any further than a rumor. but if we could really get out the word that we wont work or drive or spend a dam dime until gas price are down at least a dollar. yes hopefully we will see a little payback for all we spend on gas. ps i think that you are a very good natured person and dont ever stop being that way.

I do believe there is a conflict of interest, especially since Bush and his family are oil people from way back. According to US law the sitting president isn't suppose to profit while sitting in that office. I'm sure Bush is going to get a tidy profit from the oil companies once he leaves office if it hasn't happened already. And by the way, I am outraged too.

I've got these thoughts about fuel prices:
1. You forfeit your right to complain about gas prices if you blow past me on the interstate driving an '80s model Chevy Caprice (or any comparable piece o' crap) with two mismatched doors and three mismatched fenders.
2. Truck drivers, I swear, if I hear one more of you complaining about the price of diesel threatening your livelihoods, I'll take a hostage. What load is so critical that you feel you need to plant your front bumper firmly against my rear one...especially when you can look down into my back seat and see my son in his car seat...and I'm in the right-hand lane. You forfeit your right to complain on principle. Truck drivers are the dumbest asses in captivity.
3. Mr. 20-something guy with the 35-thousand dollar pick-up and Ms. 20-something chica in the 25-thousand dollar sportster, you deserve to be flat broke. If Momma and Daddy are still carrying your sorry assess, good for you. Otherwise, good luck surviving on ramen noodles and hot pockets...and you can stuff that Razr up your ***, too.

Honestly I am pretty ticked off at how much gas costs. It sucks, I have to spend a pretty good chunk of my paycheck just to commute back and forth to work. I have cut my driving down because of it. It's hard for people who barely make ends meet. The rich are getting richer and the poor are still struggling just to get by.

whaaa They start making a good profit and everyone complains. You think that the oil companies make good profits all the time? Just because its a little higher then it was you complain, yet you and many Americans still drive..trust me if it was too high it would reduce driving yet it hasn't.

The oil companies are no different than our politicians who give themselves huge pay increases while us, the people who elected them, struggle on, or only just get by on our wages.

Yet another reason to hate Bush. Why isn't our president doing something???? On the other hand people- STOP buying the big cars and slow down on the driving....
