Should we get a point/points for reporting abuse on Yahoo Answers?
If you think so how many points should we get per or based on the abuse? Also please post your support for this idea here also.

I don't think that's a good idea. People will go crazy trying to report other people.

No, I don't think points should be awarded for reporting abuse. If someone is genuinely annoyed or upset by a question then that is all the incentive they need to file a report. The award of points will just encourage reports for no reason at all other than to receive the points. Perhaps it would be best to deduct points from the person who is reported!

No. Reporting abuse is a moral issue. They already have enough problems stopping the people that are out of line with out someone reporting innocent questions just to chase points.

No. If you get points for reporting abuse than some people will just report abuse for nothing.

I have an alternative idea.
Based on the amount of work that the yahoo answers staff have to put into vetting and checking questions that are reported, (thanklessly, I might add), and having the annoyance of dealing with inappropriate reporting (which would boom if points were awarded for doing so) why not try this:
Every time you report someone you lose one point.
If that report is deemed valid, you get your point back plus one.

If you did this some people would just report anyone for abuse and get points for doing it. Bad idea...sorry.

I think so, I think I spend more of my time reporting perverted obscene and rasist questions, or those that aren't questions at all, that I don't even have time to answer questions sometimes. Besides, I'm doing everyone else a favor.
1 or 2 points would do it for me.
Though, you have to think that if you were awarded to report questions, people would report anyone and everyone, and make that a part of the game as well.

2 points for reporting abuse on Yahoo Answers
and 4 points reporting abuse on Yahoo games, chat rooms etc

No, that would only encourage too many false reports, and tie the Y!A team up reviewing them, to no good purpose. I think the system is correct the way it is, except perhaps to hire more staff to respond to abuse reports, especially to cover the week-ends. There do seem to be fewer on the week-ends. Or perhaps there are more trolls on week-ends.

No, because that would then be abused. Anything has the potential of offending anyone and it would be the Salem Witch Trials all over again, but here on Yahoo!.
*edit*
I think you should be reported though.
