How soon can I find out if im pregnant?

I was thinking that there is a possiblility I am, and then my friend asked me this morning if I am, because he had a strange dream, looked it up and apparently someone living around him will be pregnant. Also im a bit worried because I am supposed to be flying next month, but if im pregnant... arent there dangerous times when you shouldn't fly while pregnant?

Thankyou in advance for your help. I dont really want to alarm people (friends, and family) without needing to... hence the reason I am asking here.

Update:

Thanks for the speedy answers!

My main concern is that because my doctors dont speak english, so it would be a bit confusing.

So if I were to be pregnant, it would have happened 8 days ago.

My periods are never regular, so thats another reason why I was asking...

Guess I better get to a pharmacy!

Most pregnancy tests are accurate the first day of your missed period. Some can detect smaller levels of the hormone a few days BEFORE your missed period, but always test and then retest a week later if you've gotten a negative the first time. Remember, there are no false positives, only false negatives. As far as flying goes, you can not usually fly after the 7th month of pregnancy just in case you go into labor on the plane. You still can as long as you get a Dr's note explaining you're most likely NOT going to be going into labor anytime soon. First find out if you're really pregnant, then worry about the flying. You have plenty of time! Good luck!

If you really want to know now you could go to the doctor and have a blood test done.

A blood test will show you are pregnant 7 days after you conceive.

you can fly up til you are 6 months.

But a pregnancy test (store bought) will not show up until 5 days before a missed period.

    good luck

You can fly and be pregnant. It's in the last trimester you should be careful about the flying.

The soonest is 2 weeks I would think. Get a home pregnancy test and test yourself once a week for several weeks. This way you'll be sure before you say anything to anyone.

If you get an early pregnancy test, you can usually find out up to 5 days before your missed period. Use the first pee of the morning, so it has time to absorbe the hormones in your system. I always got two tests, one for back up. If the first one came out negative, I waited to see if I actually missed my period, if I did I would test again. If not, I saved it for another day...

You shouldn't have to worry about flying until your last trimester.

Home Pregnancy tests can be taken about a week before your period. Doctor Pregnancy tests (blood tests) can be taken sooner.

You can fly up until your last trimester (7th, 8th and 9th month).

If you get a home pregnancy test the results are extremely acurate. They can be positive pretty much a week after conception. I would go that route or go to a clinic.

you should be able to tell 5 days before ur missed period. if you take a pregnancy test, as far as flying it is compleatly safe to fly anytime, except within 2 weeks before ur due date, unless u have been haveing a comlicated pregnancy then it probley wouldnt be a good idea.

Look on the pregnancy test box. Some tests vary. You can't fly in the last part of the pregnancy, usually the last trimester.

Just go to the doctor and get them to do a test to find out if your unsure.
